An Open Letter to Admiral William McRaven
US Defense Watch ^ | AUGUST 17, 2018 | BY RAY STARMANN

Posted on 10/19/2019 9:36:19 AM PDT by US Navy Vet

Dear Admiral McRaven:

Your OPED yesterday, which was picked up by every liberal media outlet in the country, was sadly indicative of the current state of mind of many of our nation’s recently retired and active duty senior military leaders.

You stated that former CIA director John Brennan, “is one of the finest public servants I have ever known. Few Americans have done more to protect this country than John. He is a man of unparalleled integrity, whose honesty and character have never been in question, except by those who don’t know him.”

The man whom you describe as being a cross between George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Mother Theresa is a deep state hack; who, along with other Obama holdouts, is openly and aggressively pursuing a coup d’etat against the current President of the United States, for one reason and one reason only – his side lost the election.

True. Removing a duly elected president from office without cause is *never* an act of patriotism. Spare me all the sophistry. Brennan and Clapper, et al, are traitors and ought to be strung up as such for their pre- and post-election conduct.

I disagreed with 95% of the things Obama did as president but I would have never suggested or approved of having him impeached. Now, if I knew of some of the espionage on political foes within our borders, I might have felt differently but - without concrete evidence - there’s no basis for “high crimes and misdemeanors”. The Deep State didn’t even wait for any crimes by Trump, they’ve been engaged in a coup d’etat from before he was sworn in.

I’m just surprised they didn’t try assassination as a first option. Only by God’s grace.

If it weren’t for Obama purging our military of our Best and Brightest, political hacks would not have risen to the level that they have.

Sadly, another embarrassment to the Navy I once knew. Hell I was even born at Bethesda Naval Hospital way back before the middle of the last century. My dad was an O-6 and swore my in when I enlisted. These assclowns, like mclame, are not MY Navy folks.

Admiral William McRaven is a graduate of Texas University in Austin.

He is a tea-sipper.

Craven is more like it.

Brennan is a TRAITOR who should be publicly disemboweled and his carcass left on a pike for the vultures. His family....every one of them should be left destitute and a pariah in every corner of the country.

Officers tend to be Military first and politicians 2nd, 3rd or not at all up thru the rank of O-3. (Captain...is the Army rank of O-3).
But as they are promoted higher, they increasingly become political animals, putting the good of their men as a secondary priority.
Generals and Admirals are mostly all political creatures since political favor is required to achieve these higher ranks. In the enlisted ranks, up thru E-7 and even E-8 (Company 1st Sgt, etc), they are Military focused. IMO, there were (are?) too many Sgt Majors who were just politicians as well.
Don’t think the Military is immune from political correctness....IMExperience, the stupid policies that hurt morale and discipline/training came from the Post Commanding General (who probably was just doing the dictate of his superiors).

The last Army rank where one can most truly be a fighter and have personal control of soldiers, is Captain.

Major is a staff job.
LTC is staff or Battalion Commander (manager of the Companies). Col manages the battalions. etc.

When one gets to Admiral like this a**wipe, just think of him/her as a DC politician wearing a uniform who serves politicians instead of soldiers.
Soldiers are not blind to this kind of bad leadership, but they are forced to obey none the less....good soldiers and bad leaders has been a problem of militarizes for a very long time...

“I’m just surprised they didn’t try assassination as a first option. Only by God’s grace.”

The scuttlebutt is that they have tried on at least 3 separate occasions since his inauguration.

Great letter calling out the hypocrisy of Admiral McRaven being one of the perfumed princes. Especially love where the Captain point out:

"You then dared the Commander in Chief to revoke your security clearance.

I’m sure you’re aware of the following regulation in the UCMJ. Retired military officers are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) under Article 2 of the UCMJ, which extends the jurisdiction of military law to “Retired members of a regular component of the armed forces who are entitled to pay.” “Retirees are subject to the UCMJ and may be tried by court-martial for violations … that occurred … while in a retired status.”

Article 88 of the UCMJ criminalizes “contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or the Governor or legislature of any State.”

"Something to ponder, sir."

I agree completely. The worst that could be placed upon Brennan, his co-conspirators, and their next of kin is what is needed to protect us from future attempts of such activity. Because we have gone soft on punishment is why we see such activity.
