Boris Johnson Declares the UK Has Reached a 'Great' Brexit Deal With EU

"Where there's a will, there's a way," European Union Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker declared on Thursday.

Somehow, some way, the United Kingdom has finally reached a Brexit deal with the EU, just two weeks before the deadline to leave the bloc. You can read the full revised withdrawal agreement below, which notably addresses a new plan for the Irish backstop.

?????????? Where there is a will, there is a #deal - we have one! It’s a fair and balanced agreement for the EU and the UK and it is testament to our commitment to find solutions. I recommend that #EUCO endorses this deal. pic.twitter.com/7AfKyCZ6k9— Jean-Claude Juncker (@JunckerEU) October 17, 2019

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was just as pleased to confirm the news on Twitter.

We’ve got a great new deal that takes back control — now Parliament should get Brexit done on Saturday so we can move on to other priorities like the cost of living, the NHS, violent crime and our environment #GetBrexitDone #TakeBackControl— Boris Johnson (@BorisJohnson) October 17, 2019

The announcement allows many Brits to breathe again. It seemed like a no-deal Brexit was becoming more and more likely, with no one - certainly no one in Parliament - quite knowing how it would disrupt Brits' daily lives.

Parliament still needs to approve the document. They haven't been thrilled with previous attempts at a deal. Former Prime Minister Theresa May's offering was rejected an historic three times. And the Democratic Unionist Party has already vowed to oppose it. But, Johnson is so confident in the revised text, that, as you can see above, he's ready to move on to other issues. If all goes well, the UK will leave the EU as scheduled on October 31.

The Parting Glass:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kVVn80pFOc

Of all the money that e’er I had, I spent it in good company And of all the harm that e’er I’ve done, alas it was to none but me And all I’ve done for want of wit, to memory now I can’t recall So fill to me the parting glass. Goodnight and joy be with you all

Of all the comrades that e’er I had, they’re sorry for my going away And all the sweethearts that e’er I had They would wish me one more day to stay But since it falls unto my lot that I should rise and you should not I’ll gently rise and I’ll softly call, “Goodnight and joy be with you all!”

A man may drink and not be drunk, a man may fight and not be slain A man may court a pretty girl and perhaps be welcomed back again But since it has so ordered been by a time to rise and a time to fall Come fill to me the parting glass, good night and joy be with you all Good night and joy be with you all

A crap deal for UK. No return of UK fishing waters, pay 39 million pounds to EU, and worst of all can’t make bi lateral economic deals with USA and others.

In short, they are not free, EU still calls the shots until
the EU goes belly up and dies.

This is not Brexit. I see haggling for years to come if this becomes and international treaty, Boris signs away
UK rights to honor the Brexit vote and EU makes sure
the Brits can’t contest any future moves to change things.

The UK fishing waters revert to British control, and the settlement of accounts is 32 billion pounds not 39.

And yes it can make bilateral deals. Wherever did you get that they can’t?
