BRUSSELS: European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker congratulated Prime Minister Boris Johnson on their Brexit withdrawal deal on Thursday and said it meant there should be "no further delay".
"We have a deal, and this deal means there is no need for any kind of prolongation," Juncker told reporters as he welcomed the British leader to EU headquarters ahead of summit talks.
British MPs are expected to vote on the deal on Saturday. Pro-EU parliamentarians hope they can defeat it and Brexit can still be delayed to allow a general election or a new referendum on whether to leave the EU at all.
Arriving later at an EU summit of leaders expected to endorse the new withdrawal plan, Juncker said he hoped British MPs would pass the plan as agreed so that Britain can leave on October 31.
"There will be no prolongation. There is not an argument for further delay -- it has to be done now," he said.

Thank goodness the EUS Juncker has a parachute.
The Queen has not made any real statement either way.
We need to see the fine print. Might require approval by parliament, which would be a built in stop-brexit mechanism for the globalists.
And remember, any “delay” is mean’t to kill brexit in one way or another and that’s why both EU and UK non-patriots love the idea so much. See May, Blair, the Traitor (Speaker) et al.
The Queen has not made any real statement either way.
“My government’s priority has always been to secure the United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union on October 31,” the 93-year-old monarch said...

Its not a victory until its voted on and passed...
If its rejected its another delay and nothing changes..
That’s the Queen’s address — basically the text is written by the PM of the day and the queen reads it
“SNP should abstain - they gain nothing by voting for or against this, but they gain a lot by abstaining (meaning independence referendum 2)”
Not sure how you figure out. They can’t exactly claim to have tried their best to stop Scotland being ‘damaged’ by a ‘disastrous’ brexit if they abstain. They’d likely lose support from desperate formerly unionist remainers who would turn away from them again in disgust.
It looks like reality is begining to dawn on the scotnats, and their supporters, that Independence will mean a hard border with England. The red in tooth and claw nationalists won’t see that as an issue, but moderates who are persuadable either way probably will, especially those in the Scottish border areas that will be alarmed at the prospect of a hard border with England now that they have seen with this deal, Scotland would be forced to choose between being in the British single market and customs area, or the EU one. Since the former is demonstrably far more important, their economic argument will be torn to shreds by any credible economist, which means the only argument they’ve got left is the emotional ‘FREEEEEDDOOOMMM’ braveheart one, which they have tried to avoid.
If this week has proved anything it is that May was far too weak for the job. If Boris was able to get the concessions he did, May could have done it too if she’d had an ounce of Thatcher in her, but she didn’t. She can go in the historic dustbin of failed Prime Ministers along with Neville Chamberlain, Lord North, Arthur Balfour and Anthony Eden.
If so then, halleluyah!
If not, I’ll believe when it happens...
The emotional argument is played by Brexiteers and by ScotNats.
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander
There is a key difference here, Scotland is a net recepient of tax receipts from London wheras Brussels was a net recepient of tax receipts from the UK. We were propping up the EU, not the other way around like Scotland is being propped up by the UK.
The EU is also a protectionist minded bloc, impervious to the lesson learned by the British when we repealed the Corn Laws and shot to prosperity with free trade in the second half of the 19th century.
Besides, as I already mentioned I can appreciate the nationalist argument of wanting to be a sovereign nation on principle if you don’t see Britain as your country to whom you owe loyalty, but they should at least be honest about the economic damage Scottish independence would cause and state that independence would come at a heavy price instead of lying to the Scottish public about just where they are.
Yet in both cases the economic arguments are in favor of being part of the union.
That’s why the Leave argument in the current calendar year veered towards the emotional argument and away from any economic argument.
I’m confused - you say “The EU is also a protectionist minded bloc” and yet at the same time others say it is a globalist organization
“they should at least be honest about the economic damage Scottish independence would cause”
That’s the same argument that was leveled against the Leave campaign in 2016 that claimed that it would be a land of milk and honey post Brexit. Then it changed to Widdecomb saying we can live like Britain post WWII.
I haven't seen the details of the "deal" and probably wouldn't understand them anyway. I'll leave that to people here on FR who are far more learned than I.
Having said that, it appears that the "Remainers" lose either way. If they manage to get enough votes to say NO to the deal, then hard Brexit it is and then they lose even worse.
I've always thought that a hard Brexit was actually in Britain's best interests anyway since they'll then be free to negotiate their own trade deals and our President has openly said the Brit's would find no better trading partner than the good ol' USA.
Truth. I'm in the "believe it when I see it" camp. The drama and delays created by the Remainers has been something.
The EU is an expansionist Empire. It has ambitions not only to get every country in Europe under its control but expand into Africa and Asia. It is a prototype for globalist government. Economic protectionism against those who are not members is a weapon they use to persuade people to join.

Actually it was the UK that advocated the expansion east. the EU does not want to expand further - it’s rejecting even Serbia and other Balkan states accession.
For the time being.... and please make a distinction between what our corrupt, europhile ruling class wanted and what the British people wanted. Britain’s Europhiles are their heirs to the old Empire’s ruling caste who think it is their place to rule the world and have never given a damn about the ordinary Britons they consider barely above the level of livestock in terms of respect and standing.
