Traffic Accident in Saudi Arabia's Medina Province Leaves 35 Dead, 4 Injured

01:05 17.10.2019(updated 01:26 17.10.2019)

A total of 35 individuals were killed on Wednesday in a massive traffic accident in Saudi Arabia's Medina province, the SPA news agency has revealed.

Citing police officials, the agency noted that in addition to those killed, another four individuals were left with serious injuries after a private charter bus collided with a heavy vehicle loader. Many were subsequently transported to the Al-Hamna Hospital, according to the release.

The bus was carrying a total of 39 passengers at the time.

The spokesperson of the province's Medina police further indicated that the passengers included individuals with Asian and Arabic nationalities. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

This is more like a bus accident than a traffic accident, which implies numerous vehicles, rather one loaded vehicle colliding with an all but immovable object.

I've driven in the UAE before (next door to Saudi) and they drive like absolute maniacs.Given that the two people are pretty much cousins it seems likely that Saudis do too.

Back in the bad ol days I used to drive in the Eastern Province. The road from Dammam north to some the furthest oil camps was littered with cars..both sides of the road. New expensive models....thousands mile after mile just left to ror.
