President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, told Fox News he will not comply with a congressional subpoena to turn over all documents related to the phone call between Trump and Ukraine central to impeachment hearings against the president, as the deadline for cooperating expires Tuesday.
Giuliani's attorney, Jon Sale, who he retained to represent him in matters relating to impeachment said his client would not abide by the subpoena "because this appears to be an unconstitutional, baseless, and illegitimate, "impeachment inquiry,"" according to a letter sent to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Tuesday.
"The subpoena is overbroad, unduly burdensome, and seeks documents beyond the scope of legitimate inquiry. Moreover, documents sought in the subpoena are protected by attorney-client, attorney work-product, and executive privileges," Sale wrote.
Giuliani also told Fox News he is parting ways with Sale, a former Watergate prosecutor, stating that unless Congress tries to enforce the subpoena, he will not be needing an attorney.
The three House committees conducting depositions this week to move the impeachment inquiry forward -- which include the Foreign Affairs, Intelligence and Oversight and Reform committees -- allege that Giuliani "pressed the Ukrainian government to pursue two politically motivated investigations” against the former vice president and 2020 hopeful Joe Biden and his son Hunter in exchange for foreign aid.

My understanding is that there are no subpoenas in this inquiry because these committees lack legal authority to issue them.
They are issuing Letters of Demand.
Maybe Rashida Tlaid will show up at his door with an arrest warrant. lol

It’s not a subpoena. It’s a request.
If they want to send actual subpoenas they need to have a vote by the entire House.
I suspect this is more like the time Ann Coulter received some sort of officious, bogus, order from John Conyers (which I'm having a suspicious amount of trouble tracking down online) that was the equivalent of the school board ordering you to produce all your Home Depot receipts for the last five years.

She is using the same play book for impeachment. Because she "deemed" that impeachment started, just like magic, it started! The royal "we" rules the day.
Article 2, Clause 5: The House of Representatives .... shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.
This means action by the WHOLE House by a vote, not by decrees from Queen Nancy, Princess Omar, Princess 'MFer' Tlaib, Princess Ocasio-Cortez, Grand Inquisitor Nadler, or Torquemada Schiff.
The Constitution does not provide for secret grand jury methods as an on-ramp for impeachment. Trump needs to sue for his Constitutionally guaranteed rights. The Constitution holds that the House - the while House - has the sole power to impeach. Not the Speaker of the House, not a BS committee chairman in the House, and not any single member of the House - but the House collectively. That means a VOTE in the whole House.
The House can have all the phony baloney rules it wants. The President/Executive, then, as an independent branch, should have its own rules about not cooperating with fake impeachment until the entire House votes to go for an impeachment inquiry as has been the tradition since the beginning.
And yet I STILL see a few bashers here hitting him when they can.
