Ted Cruz: It Is ‘Not’ Appropriate for Trump to Ask China to Investigate Biden Family
Breitbart ^ | 13 Oct 2019 | Pam Key

Posted on 10/13/2019 11:52:49 AM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

On Sunday’s broadcast of CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said it was not appropriate for President Donald Trump to ask China to investigate 2020 presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden regarding his business ties.

Partial transcript as follows:

MARGARET BRENNAN: So China’s a- a surveillance state. Is it appropriate for President Trump to be saying–

CRUZ: Yeah.

BRENNAN: –China should look into the Biden family? Is that appropriate?

CRUZ: I- look, of course not. Elections in the U.S. should be decided by- by Americans and it’s not the business of- of foreign countries, any foreign countries, to be interfering in our elections.

BRENNAN: Even Ukraine? I mean when you’re talking about some of this, I mean do you think that- say the president’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, who’s been talking about China, who’s been talking about Ukraine. Do you want to hear him testify about this sort of shadow foreign policy?

CRUZ: Listen, foreign countries should stay out of American elections. That’s true for Russia. That’s true for Ukraine. That’s true for China. That’s true for all of them. It should be the American people deciding elections. I- I don’t know what Rudy’s been saying. I- I do know though that we should decide our elections. It should be the American people making those decisions.

BRENNAN: And you do want him to testify before your committee?

CRUZ: I think it’d make a lot of sense for Rudy to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee. That’s- that’s ultimately a question for the committee chairman, Lindsey Graham. But- but I’d like to see Rudy testify. Yes.

What’s not appropriate is for the Constitutional office holder who’s directly (and solely) charged with enforcing the laws to fail to at least make a sincere attempt to do so.

STFUTC.

To think I was one of your top supporters.

Not anymore.

I will never vote for anybody who pushes the Deep State line that Trump was going after Biden for political reasons.

It is the president's duty to ask for such an investigation. He would be remiss if he didn't.

Ted Cruz: It Is ‘Not’ Appropriate for Trump to Ask China to Investigate Biden...

Very misleading headline. Listening to the 6 minute clip, that is not the crux of what he said whatsoever. And, at the end, said that transcripts of whomever, like biden, should be released like the whistleblower transcript was.

Looks to me like Brietbart is being divisive within the R ranks.

Yet it was fine for the Steele Dossier to be used as the basis of 3 year investigation? That wasn’t from Americans (besides Clinton paying for it)
I really like the idea that American’s aren’t allowed to know information as it might some how influence our election. The less we know is better evidently. A Russian bought a Facebook ad?? Dumb Americans are so stupid that the ad made them change their mind on voting.
Thats what our ruling elites really think about the rest of us.
Oh the Biden’s committed fraud in another country??? Well some things WE JUST AREN’T SUPPOSE to know

He wasn’t speaking to China, he was punking the MSM.

But hey, why let the facts get in the way of prostituting yourself to the Democrat Media Empire?

So, wait, it’s okay if foreign powers own candidates, and the US is forbidden from investigating such foreign control, unless the investigation is about Trump, then it’s okay?

I really can’t follow such circular logic. You had payola from two foreign powers to one of the leading presidential candidates of the Democrat party, who openly says he relies upon the bribed party for advice.

That should be investigated by the foreign powers, the US government and by any potential rivals in the race.

Several posts here at FR today of Teddy criticizing Trump.

I use to have a lot of respect for him. Now I see him as nothing more than a swamp rat. Major disappointment.

After all this Biden business, I am amazed that more is not being asked or said about President Trump’s children, in-laws, and other family members involved in overseas business, especially that directly related to Trump related ones.
