Do you remember two years ago when Iraq was going to fight the Kurds in a different part of Syria. Many people wanted us to fight with the Kurds against Iraq, who we just fought for. I said no, and the Kurds left the fight, twice. Now the same thing is happening with Turkey......
.....The Kurds and Turkey have been fighting for many years. Turkey considers the PKK the worst terrorists of all. Others may want to come in and fight for one side or the other. Let them! We are monitoring the situation closely. Endless Wars!
Dealing with @LindseyGrahamSC and many members of Congress, including Democrats, about imposing powerful Sanctions on Turkey. Treasury is ready to go, additional legislation may be sought. There is great consensus on this. Turkey has asked that it not be done. Stay tuned!
Yup. The one thing Slow Joe was right about in 40 years.
Hilarious video, that just about sums up the Middle East perfectly.
Humor ? Hm....
Does make a point at how far people will travel from other parts of the world (thru history) to kill others in that spot.
An odd sort of magnetism
And if we go there, what is to stop the majority Mexican areas in the United States southwest from carving out an enclave of their own?
CNN Breaking News @cnnbrk
Pro-Turkish forces cut off the main road between the east and west of Syrian Kurdish territory, effectively cutting off the city of Kobani, where US troops are based
I got a nice chuckle from that: Trump says, “You want war? Declare it! I dare ya!”
You forgot Russia....the whole place is a mess.
“Kurds...are every bit as likely to be slicing off heads, taking down airliners and blowing up people as any other group of Muslims.”
A sad but unfortunate exhibition of ignorance. Yes, complicated problem there but the Kurds love Americans in northern Iraq and are quite moderate with a pro-Woman’s rights segment among their ranks.
To lump them in with others is plainly wrong.
“TRUST in TRUMP!”... he’ll handle it correctly.
All I see at https://mobile.twitter.com/realDonaldTrump
is spinning circles.

3 words Incirlik...Air...Base
How many personal and how many Aircraft are there?
Listen I really hope 7 Pray Trump made the right decision...But I’ve got a bad feeling, he took a bad situation and has made it Worse.
Are the Kurds nearly 100% Muslims? Yes or No please. I have worked, befriended and had long conversations with foreign born Muslims... we live just down the street from the largest Muslim cemetery in our state and our community is overrun with them. If you think that anyone who is a foreign born Muslim “loves America” in any normal sense of the phrase, then sadly you are the one showing extreme ignorance and naivity... It doesn’t make much difference if they are from Somalia, Iran, or a Kurd from Syria.
The Kurds are Muslim. They are not extremists and befriend Americans at every turn. An American who goes into Kurdistan in Northern Iraq is treated like royalty.
So spare me any lecture about ignorance.
We could go round and round on this. There is no such thing as “moderate Muslim”. They may act like your friend when they want something from you, but when push comes to shove their “loyalties” will be with other Muslims and not the good old USA. If you ever had an in depth conversation with a foreign born “moderate Muslim” whose trust you had gained you would know this to be true. To think otherwise is very naive.
Much of the time our foreign policy is set by people who believe that people from other cultures think the same way that we do. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is comforting to belive as you do that as an American you would be loved and welcomed by the Kurds in their territories, and right now while they want assistance from our country they probably would act in a way that would confirm your belief.
But I am telling with absolute certainty that this can and will change immediately when circumstances change. Islam itself is directly opposed to what America stands for no matter how it is sugar coated. And this is from someone who believed exactly as you do now before I had my eyes forced opened by first hand experience. My assumption is that you just like me, will continue believing what you want until you have your own eye opening experience. My suggestion is that you try to befriend and gain the trust of a foreign born Muslim which is really not very easy. Easier but not as good would be to befriend a person from the region who is not a Muslim but can relate what they know about them to you. This is as close as most people can actually hope to get to gaining further insight. But good luck either way.
I’m not interested in your lectures. This is about the Kurds in the Mideast and they are big supporters of the US and Americans in northern Iraq.
Going on and on about Muslims is making you look more than a little unhinged from the topic about the Kurds IN THE MIDDLE EAST.
Sheesh.
Sadly your sheltered life will probably not provide a spanking to you, and you will continue spouting off about matters which are far beyond your grasp. Too bad that tone deaf RINO McCain is gone, but at least you still have the Mitt Romney facebook fan club left to hang out with. Your point of view would be greatly appreciated at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/mittromney/.
Here we go again with stupid projection. I’m not a neocon anything.
This story is about the Kurds. Hellooooooooooo?
Yes, this is like banging my head against a wall.
You can’t get it through your thick skull that Kurds are Muslims and what that actually means. It doesn’t matter how much you sugar coat it, spending billions of dollars and getting our soldiers killed and maimed for any Islamic group is a waste.
I have had personal relationships with a number of foreign born Muslims. I don’t hate them and even got along better than most with them, but I did get to know them well enough to understand what made them tick. Only a fool would disregard Kurdish culture and history when predicting the outcome down the road of our assistance to them.
All of our efforts, men and women killed and maimed and trillions of dollars spent in Muslim countries in the Middle East have been mostly a waste. 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9-11 were from our “greatest Islamic ally” in the region, Saudi Arabia. Trying to keep the Muslims in the region from slaughtering one another is crazy. In the end even the ones we have been trying to help will blame all of their problems on the infidels. You are a fool for believing otherwise and insisting that the Kurds are different.
