No matter what the result, the exercise will be hailed as a "success" by environmentalists, state bureaucrats, and their allies, and a "model" for efforts elsewhere. The truth is that the wildfire premise, which could be easily addressed by a few thousand people with brush-cutters, is no more than a pretext. The end goal of the modern green movement, clearly expressed by Paul Ehrlich, John Holdren, and Dave Foreman among many others, is deindustrialization followed by depopulation.

I like American Thinker a lot, but this author is nuts. I'd wager he's never visited California, doesn't understand the size of the state, doesn't understand the incredibly rugged terrain that transmission lines run through, doesn't understand the speed at which vegetation grows back into rights of way, and doesn't know the difference between trees and brush.

To think that just because problems have been solved in other places California should be evaluated on a basis of their not implementing those solutions.

I think he does understand. Governor Brown finally changed, at the very last minute of his ‘rule,’ the law to allow logging companies to clear underbrush. They had always done it. It always kept the fires at bay. American Thinker is totally right on this. They are blaming PG&E for their leftie purposes. The Governor has mandated the blackouts - what a reprehensible, archaic, nonsensical way of ‘protecting us from wildfires.’ Really?? Will he stop the Santa Anas? Back in the 1970's and 1980's, Eileen Anderson, a former Miss Liverpool and perennial candidate for mayor of Los Angeles proposed drilling holes in the San Gabriel Mountains and installing giant fans to blow the smog away into the desert. Sounds like she was way ahead of her time.
The depopulation has begun, the homeless encampments will bring disease that will infect the populace as will as the human defication in public streets, the invaders are bringing in kids and adults that have not been screened and this to will help with the depopulation. De industrialization comes when people look to the government for sustenance and will not or for that matter don’t have to workwhen they will get a monthly allowance, food stamps welfare and other forms of public assistance
What you say has merit. Unfortunately, the greens and the rest of their confederacy are not sane. They’re capable of great evil, imo. And even if they’re unable to carry out their depopulation and de-industrialization plans to the full, they can certainly cause a great deal of suffering and death during the doing of their plans. Consider how de-industrialized America was (and still is) prior to Trump’s election. Should he not be re-elected for whatever reason it stands to reason that if the power of the presidency falls back into the hands of the Mad-Hatters they’ll unleash the hounds of hell upon us if they can.

Whether it is called the Left, Progressivism, or Deep State it favors eugenics and has always sought depopulation. What is Planned Parenthood but eugenics by another name. And so far it has rid the world of 60 million and counting unborn Americans. Consider the epidemic of AIDs and other STDs-—again we see eugenics parading as human rights.
