There were dozens of ears listening to President Donald Trump’s 30-minute phone call with the leader of Ukraine that is at the center of a House impeachment inquiry , and as many eyes that saw what he said.
White House staffers, working in the secure, soundproof Situation Room in the West Wing basement, listened in and chronicled the conversation . National Security Council personnel edited a memo written about the call. White House lawyers, according to a government whistleblower , directed that the memo be uploaded into a highly restricted classified computer network. And there were the staffers whose keystrokes on a computer made that happen.
....The next 10 words that came out of Trump’s mouth — “I would like you to do us a favor, though” — are what triggered the House impeachment inquiry that has imperiled his presidency.
Trump asked Zelenskiy to work with Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Attorney General William Barr to look into Biden and his son, who served on the board of a Ukrainian gas company.
Trump says it was an innocent, “perfect” call. But some White House staffers, worried that Trump seemed to be asking Ukraine for dirt on Biden....

He was asking for evidence of a CRIME - several crimes, actually.

The phone call was learning about the Hunter/Joe biden violation of the Corrupt Practices Laws. The president was not obstructing justice, he was implementing justice

The president is head of the executive branch. The Exec branch runs federal law enforcement.
He was not doing ‘oppo research’
Biden is on tape admitting a crime. He asked them to help with the investigation. As one head of state to another.
There is no quid pro quo in that phrase.
AND we have a Treaty with Ukraine in regard to "corruption".
I thought the first thing that PDJT asked about was Crowdstrike—the Ukrainian company that checked the DNC server for evidence of a data breech, you know the server the FBI was not allowed to see.
The President has the right and responsibility to have American citizens investigated and investigated by any means.
The finer points of diplomacy is obviously way above such [presumed-worried] staffers' pay grade.
Furthermore, with the Bill Clinton signed Treaty that specifically presents a framework for sharing results of potentially criminal investigations, as well as the fact that an investigation of the Bidens had been on-going for months if not years, what PDJT requested was 100% appropriate. The US--in the person of its president--was right to seek full knowledge and documentation of the hundreds of millions of US dollars that were being used to manipulate events in Ukraine, especially since it was a already matter of the Ukraine prosecutors. Why should investigation and documentation be duplicated unnecessarily?
Total nonsense. The discussion of Biden did NOT follow the “do us a favor”. That request was for information on Crowdstrike.

big bunch of nope. Not how our government works. The president is NOT the dictator of the executive branch, he does NOT have final authority on all the departments in the branch, he is NOT the top of all those jobs. And it is NOT his job to collect evidence in a crime. He wasn’t asking for help in an investigation. He was doing the exact same thing that was done to him. This is how politics works. This is how politics has worked for a long long time.
