ESV - Acts 19:19 —
“And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver.”
That was the response of the people after they had converted to Christianity.
Should they have safeguarded those books so that they could have damned the souls of others who read them?
Your attitude is why Western culture is losing out. Too many people can find reasons not to stand up to the venom and poison.
She 7s a White Hispanic.
The students could have voiced their disagreement with the author without acting like liberals do when they disagree with a conservative speaker on campus. I dont support what they did here at all.
Since she’s not white, she has no justified opinion as to the behavior of white people.
Isn’t that sorta what black people say about whites?
Viva Cuba libre! Abajo communismo!
Don’t have the Spanish exclamation points on my keyboard, of course. But I think you will appreciate the sentiment.
Interesting you mention your family’s roots in Spanish Galicia. My family’s roots are in Polish Galicia, around Krakow. Kind of confusing having two important regions with the same name in far-distant countries with such different languages.
Woke. Everything the left labels is the opposite of its true meaning.”
So true...but it is not just on the left, using words to express the opposite of their normal meaning is something that seems to be more common everyday. I first became irritated by it when all around me were saying, “I could care less.”
Only three races are postulated, Asian, Caucasian, Negroid. The phrase “white hispanic” is used by cynical people who are trying to isolate Caucasians with light skin from all other Caucasians. Looking back though, has anything good ever really come from these distinctions? In God’s eyes, we’re all the same. If He would have us ignore superficial distinctions in skin coloration and focus on behavioral differences, who are we to defy his will?
The cuban immigrants I knew in Florida were hard core anti-communist. They were strongly conservative and true patriots for the American dream, and THEY HATED CASTRO.
My memories of my formerly cuban friends were that they were with very few exceptions very good people.
I have been wondering for at least 25 years when the hell students would revolt when called racist to their faces. Welp here we are...
Actually, now that I recall, students hooted down Bill Clintons masturbation favoring Surgeon General (whatever the hell her name was) when she tried implying their racisim.
I call the “woke” Zombies.
They are “woking” dead—dead eyes, dead hearts, dead minds—and they want you dead!
They infest organizations, bloat them, and then destroy them in a bloody mess.
That first sentence sounded nice, but in truth we were FWBs and it was mostly Bs.
She NO problem acclimating to a white college. Was she accepted? Oh, very YES...Fun, fun, fun, fun times.
All the racism crap today is ridiculous. I'm a senior now and even back then, we didn't care where a person was from. We just wanted to have fun.
My grammar school and junior high school children tell me that they see right through the preposterous propaganda of the public schools, e.g.:
Many Breeds, One Race
I don’t agree with book burning. Why provide her revenue by way of the sale of books that you’re going to burn? So stupid!
Good! We need to send a message to racist latinas that we are no longer going to put up with their racist propaganda.
JoMa
I’m tempted to buy the book just so
I could burn it.
But I don’t want to waste the $$.
Just bless her heart instead.
lol, turnabout...
So they bought the book, and then burned the book?
Brilliant!
The author still got their money.
