Pacific Gas & Electric Co. shut down power to 500,000 homes and business an estimated 2-million-plus Northern California residents creating the largest blackout in state history. The move, designed as a massive defensive tactic to avoid wildfires amid high winds, created confusion, consternation and angry responses from both the public and public officials.

“California does things like this, relating to drought, to air quality and now potential fire, to show the power of the state.”
Who made the decision to cut off the power? The electricity utilities or the state government?
California citizens should have been warned far in advance of this and should have been given a thorough explanation of the power grid’s potential to make sparks, and if there’s a problem why wasn’t it addressed years ago?
I still put the blame on the mismanaged, overgrown forests. The problem is not that a forest fire starts, but that it can’t be contained.
Gosh when I was a kid there were wide plowed firebreaks all over the woods in the new england state where I lived.
Today I see no fire breaks.
What happened?

Liberalism always turns places into Venezuela.
Okay, Ill guess...
Because you escaped Kalifornia for a red state.
Maybe....just maybe this event will wake at least a quarter of the mind numbed libs to stop voting for this crap.
Many of them are already in Texas.
Brilliant on PG&E’s part. They can’t properly maintain the lines like they need to.
And what happened last night? Massive wildfire in CA. PG&E not available to sue anymore.
CA is pretty backward.
Could be he still lives there. I worked raisin farms when I lived in Fresno as a kid.
People ask me why I won’t leave California. I own a farm in the Foothills towards Tahoe from Sacto and I’ll never leave it either.
Actually has a legal cemetery that’ll have my ashes some day.
OMG!!! You’re clairvoyant.
Good for California. PG&E outsmarted them on this one. California in the dark is priceless. Just watch where you step! Needles, human feces and the like. And please, dont move to Texas. We dont want you.

PG&E power outRAGE begins 2nd night
Just getting the plebes ready for partime electrical service. Welcome to Agenda 21.
Why not toss in massive gas lines for good measure? Idiots!
Smart move!
That is what I was wondering about - how many got ready for what PG&E were promising.
Well, then, you are WAAAAY ahead of the curve!
Good for you!

This is a contrived, man-made defensive tactic by a public utility to protect the company,
it's financial assets, and the public "be damned" attitude; incidentally, expect higher utility rates.
According to Fox Business today, stock in Generac (Electrical Generators) has raised by more than 2% today, alone.
Officially, this contrived 'power outage' directly affects 800,000 homes and businesses,
and will result in substantial income loss to the State coffers as well as customer personal loss (refrigeration).
Imagine on a larger scale gasoline sales, water and sewage pumps, cellphone, computers,
and communication devices rendered inoperative.
Use this incident as a learning experience to benefit the uninformed as to what to expect
from the Progressive Green New Deal advocated by the Democrat Party.
All of a sudden, the reality of having a similar Venezuela cascading financial effect here in this country isn't all that far away, and demonstrates the extent to how much we depend on reliable electricity.

No one has been able to say that until today !
