‘A Collection of Permanent Bureaucrats Enmeshed Inside the Federal Government’
Breitbart ^ | 6 Oct 2019 | MATTHEW BOYLE

Posted on 10/07/2019 4:58:59 AM PDT by Mr. Mojo

Stephen Miller, a senior adviser to President Donald Trump, joined Breitbart News Sunday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel this weekend to expose the deep state: forces he said are driving the effort by Democrats to proceed with impeachment against the president.

“The attempt at impeachment is best understood as a legislative coup against a democratically elected president, and the radical leftists in Congress are working arm-in-arm with the deep state saboteurs and their allies in the media in order to try to effectuate this illegal coup,” Miller said.

“Although rest assured, they will fail,” he continued. “The deep state is a collection of permanent bureaucrats enmeshed inside the federal government who can’t be fired or removed — at least historically, have not been able to be — because of misguided civil service laws. They believe they know better than you, and your listeners, and the voters how the country ought to be run. At this moment in time, the deep state has a knife aimed at the heart of American democracy, and that’s what you’re seeing playing across your TV screens and newspapers pages and online, with these so-called whistleblowers, who are, of course, in fact, angry hate-filled rage-driven bureaucrats determined to take down the President of the United States and illicitly and improperly using the Whistleblower Protection Act in order to effectuate their designs.”

Miller continued, “One of the gravest threats that we face today — and I can’t emphasize this enough — to our republican form of government is the unelected deep state, and I’ll explain what I mean by that.

This is a very brave young man in these dangerous times. He had excellent preparation for this pivotal post in our history. As the only conservative student in his Santa Clara, CA high school, he forced the administrators to follow CA law and begin the school day with the pledge of allegiance. And every morning, when it was played over the PA system, Steven was the only student who stood and recited the pledge.

So he was prepared for such a time as this. May God bless and protect him and our duly elected President and his supporters.

Sounds like someone has been reading Asimov again.

The Greeks had bureaucrats, the Romans had them, the Chinese, the Mongols and heaven help protect the Czar from them.

Every government need bureaucrats but forgets to rotate them out every 50 years.

Let's fix that.

In the early years, before civil service, the federal bureaucracy would be mostly replaced with every change of administration. It helped keep things under control.

We also need to limit the offices needing Senate approval to just the cabinet secretaries, and maybe their immediate subordinates. Three years in, and Trump STILL has mostly Obama holdovers running things.

We will make voting America understand:
the cabal of Democrats, bureaucrats, Obama leftovers and corrupted intel-types
are laboring in a misguided attempt to substitute their judgement for the will of 2016 voters,

Hell, the Brits produced a TV comedy on this very subject four decades ago. You could have seen from reruns on PBS what was going to happen.

“Although rest assured, they will fail,”

They're going to fail because they're all going to be hanging from DC cherry trees, until parts start dropping off.

The Kenyan from Indonesia stuffed our government full of true believers.
It will take decades to weed them out.

In the early years, before civil service, the federal bureaucracy would be mostly replaced with every change of administration

It was called "The Spoils System" (appointing cronies and supporters to Fed Jobs). Around 1883 the present system was introduced as they thought it would stop the chaos that resulted after a different political party won the Presidency.

What could go wrong?

when I hired into state service in Cal, I was told civil service was a meritocracy. If you had told me that when i retired, i wouldn’t have been able to stop laughing.

Another way of looking at it, is it ensured that the incoming President had people in the executive branch who would promote HIS policies. Or else be fired.
