As young black leaders gathered Friday in the White House for the Young Black Leadership Summit, one voice split the room asking for a moment to pray for President Donald Trump.
Turning Point USAs Benny Johnson shared video of what happened when the president brought the young woman to the podium. Mahalet, once an abandoned, impoverished orphan from Ethiopia, earned smiles and cheers from the president and the gathered crowd.
Dear God, Im not really good at this, Mahalet laughed. But I just want to say thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to be in the White House. Thank you for giving us a great leader like Trump, Mr. Donald Trump, and I would like to thank you for waking up our nation.
She continued, asking God for protection both for the nation and for the president, adding, God, I believe that you gave him to us and I believe that hes gonna accomplish so much more. I know you have more for us.
Jesus I ask you to protect us and walk with us and in Jesus name the enemy tries to attack us every single day, Mahalet concluded. He tries to discourage us but he has no room. He has no room, no more, and thats all I have to say.

Powerful
We had a singing group from Texas visit our little church recently and dropped the line about Yee Haw is Texan for Hallelujah. We’ve been using it liberally!
What a lovely young lady, and she did a great job leading everyone in prayer.
My computer has tears in it’s eye.................
Hey GOPe idiots, here’s the “big tent” you wanted. And Trump is getting it for you pander free by getting real world results instead.
Beautiful young woman.
Contrary to popular belief... Most Ethiopians are very devout Orthodox Christians. Also contrary to popular belief... new evidence suggests they actually may have been the very first Christian Nation.

Read the book of Judges about the leaders that God elevated to help His people. Far from perfect men but God stayed with them each time and defeated the enemies. Very interesting
Amazing. And amazing story.
Going way back to the time of King David, God chose a leader who was not considered to be the first choice, but all his older brothers were passed over by God. David was the chosen leader for Israel. He was a flawed man [aren’t we all flawed just a bit or a whole lot?]. Yet, when Israel needed a strong man to lead, David rose to the occasion.
I like to think the same with Donald Trump. He has had both success and failure in business, and has a history of infidelity with his wives. Yet, he was the one who rose up to lead our country out “of the wilderness of corruption and timidity”. He has not only reinvigorated our prosperity, but he has appointed good judges and has proclaimed the First and Second Amendments to be the law of the land, and they will be protected by his administration. Our freedoms will be safeguarded with DJT as POTUS!
May God be praised!
That`s very cool!
May divine providence protect the President and this young lady as well.
Maxine Waters is having fainting fits.
President Trump, not at all afraid to give her the podium, and clearly not prearranged.
Brought a tear to my eye because of the battle for OUR times, making America Great Again....and this young lady is stepping up as a manifestation of that greatness..
She has a second target on her now besides the Christian one.
May God protect and preserve her.
We, human beings are all flawed, but...greatness comes by arising to it in leadership, loyalty, patriotism, equality and truth!!!
uh.....she’s an ORPHAN!
The ARK of the Covenant is rumored to be in an Ethiopian Church!!
My daughter roomed with a Nigerian Christian girl in college. Daughter said roomie was so conservative that she made her and Dad look like flaming liberals by comparison.
Ping!
very Christian country indeed. The Ethiopians claim to have the Arc of the Covenant in a small church there.
