What I saw at the Elizabeth Warren rally

It's always useful to know what a campaign is like, the lay of the land, so to speak, the supporters, the campaign operation, the candidate herself.

Here in San Diego, Elizabeth Warren paid a visit Thursday, so I went, taking my elderly mother, blending into the crowd to learn how things looked from the Democrat side.

The most obvious takeaway is that Warren is rising... Based on her own energetic appearance and stump speech, she's now begun campaigning as if she's got the Democratic nomination in the bag, and she's now attempting to move to the center.

That signals a swift campaign response to the de facto collapses of her Democratic rivals, which seem to be happening. Joe Biden is imploding over the massive corruption of his family political machine. Bernie Sanders is effectively out based on his age-related medical issues. Kamala Harris has been a goner ever since Rep. Tulsi Gabbard excoriated her in the second Democratic debate over her appalling record as a prosecutor. The rest are pipsqueaks. Neither Warren nor her campaign operatives mentioned any of that, but her San Diego stop showed pretty clearly that the Democrats are consolidating, and Warren is attempting to move toward the center as Trump's likeliest opponent.

All the same, she still has some weaknesses, and it's doubtful she can beat him.

I find it very heartening. Here you have a British noble, who while in the Americas trying to put down the colonies’ rebellion, has picked up American habits of thought, working hard, sticking to principle in the face of adversity, judging men by the content of their character instead of the length of their pedigree, and combined it with the virtues of British nobility, taking a fatherly and protective interest in the welfare of his tenants, who respond with affection and loyalty. But I’ve only gotten midway into Season 2. The British lower-class Cornwall dialect is hard to follow, though. Where is Cornwall, anyway?

Some good points, VK.

Trump has dealt with “feminine wiles” before. In fact, it’s one of his enduring traits. His first two wives are not enemies. He nurtured a daughter to be an intelligent business leader and quasi-ambassador. Ivanka is one of Trump’s biggest assets in the bid to win the female vote in 2020.

Trump also managed the Miss Universe pageant and hired top women into the Trump organization.

What has Warren done? Pontificated to students. She’s never run a profit-making enterprise, but she’s been a clever politician.

Trump’s life experiences are well-exposed. Warren’s life has only begun to be learned. We know very little her family. In that way she is a bit like Boobamba.

So it’s fun to think about how 2020 will play out.

We all know that. I don’t think saying something everyone already knows will affect her.

I did, I counted the people there, and I could never get to a 1000

I am not saying nobody is showing up, that would be a lie. What I am saying is that her crowds are way over estimated. Go look at a Trump Rally with 15,000 people, its a stadium of some sort with every seat full, then look at a Warren Rally where she claims 15,000 people showed up, its practically empty compared to Trump’s. Now compare her to Joe Biden, Beto or who ever and yes, she is doing better then her competitors for the Democrat Nomination. But we have no evidence that she is on Trump level or even close to Trump level support. Its not even close. They are lying to us because they promised Rallies with huge turnouts and they can’t even get half of Trump’s numbers without lying.

Cornwall is a ceremonial county in South West England, bordered to the north and west by the Celtic Sea, to the south by the English Channel, and to the east by Devon, the River Tamar forming the border between them. Cornwall is the westernmost part of the South West Peninsula of the island of Great Britain. The southwesternmost point is Land’s End and the southernmost Lizard Point. Cornwall has a population of 563,600 and an area of 3,563 km (1,376 sq mi).

Democrats are ok with getting rich as long as it comes from “public service,” ie. servicing the public.

As you say, WE all know that.

I’m talking about the legion of low-info voters, especially the ones who vote Democrat just because their parents and grandparents voted Democrat.
