Energy Secretary Rick Perry is expected to resign in November.
The announcement will be made next month and is unrelated to ongoing issues in the Trump administration with Ukraine, according to Politico. It is unclear the exact reasons or circumstances surrounding his decision to step down.
Perry, unlike many others on President Trump’s cabinet, has been with the administration from the beginning, having been confirmed to the post in a 62-37 Senate vote in March 2017.
Deputy Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette is anticipated to take over from the 69-year-old former Texas governor.
Too bad, but I hope he will find some other good things to do.
I was very surprised at how Perry remained mostly silent throughout his time on the White House staff.
Even the meek Dr. Ben spoke more to the press than Richard Perry did.

Rick Perry is the greatest Energy Secretary in U.S. history. How do I know? Because America is a net exporter of crude for the first time ever, and a massive exporter of natural gas, with Perry visiting Poland and Hungary and signing agreements for them to import American gas, despite Russia right next door.

He has been great in that job. I hope the reason he is leaving is because there is another job out there for him. He would be a great ambassador
I was skeptical when he took the position, but he’s been excellent. Hate to see him go.
3. They found a woman he fathered a child with when he was 20. A couple (friends) drove him out to the country over a covered bridge to meet their single girlfriend. They left him there as there was a spark. She claimed she was on birth control, but called him that fall as he was settling in for his sophmore year in college to let him know she was pregnant and what did he want to do.
