The Newseum, a self-congratulatory monument to the media located in our nation's capital, will close at the end of the year .... proving once again that President Donald J. Trump cannot stop winning and will never stop owning the libs.
Unlike most D.C. museums, it charged for admission$24.95 for adults. A paywall, so to speak. It was the first museum of its kind: By the journalists, for the journalists, and of the journalists....."Only modern journalism would have the nerve to celebrate itself with something as gaudy and improbable as the Newseum"...

NO NO NO... I love the newseum. I was just wearing my Newseum sweatshirt this morning! The one that says, “NEWS JUNKIE.” This is not something to be celebrated. I’m very upset.
I’ll especially miss the NBC Dateline Exploding Truck Exhibit...
I thought it would be a Trojan horse.
Spent a week in DC a few years ago and visited multiple museums etc. This one never made it to the list - All the other museums were about FACTS, this one was about lies, useless.
LOL!
Is this the one that was started by USA Today? I seem to recall visiting it back when it was free or close to that. I have little memory of it since it wasn’t worth noting like the other DC attractions.
I used to work next door to its original location in Rosslyn.
Love it!
Even better-Donald Trump buys it and names it that!
Nauseum
The word on the street is that first CNN and then a major newspapre chain had to withdraw their annual subsidies because of serious revenue decline.
Absent the sucsidies the museum is insolvent
Was that located in the Richard Jewell wing of the museum?
I’ve been there. It has Buckhead’s Rathergate post on display. It’s a screenshot of the FR page. I knew what it was the moment I saw it from 15 feet away.
The shrine to holy “objective journalists” (bet you there was no mention of Operation Mockingbird).

(This subversion effort never ended, btw. It just went deeper underground—presumably with other cover names—after it was exposed.)
If you see some of us talk about the Mockingbird Media this is what we mean.
This report brightened the day of at least one former conservative journalist ... me!
I recall that the Newseum’s press kit crossed my desk one day sometime during the last year before I retired.
My reaction at the time was “what a lot of self-congratulatory bullcrap.”
But then, after 25 years in the biz, I knew pretty well what a bunch of self-important buffoons dominated journalism.
Working down in Podunk as I did tended to keep you grounded and semi-humble.
There was no such thing as a drive-by media in the relatively small Southern markets where I worked. Screw up a story in the morning edition and you’d hear about it at lunchtime at the local country café.
On a practical note, the one thing that surprised me about this story was that the Newseum was charging $24.95 admission. Ouch!
I’d pay a quarter to look at an old linotype machine ... but we had one of those on display in the lobby of one of the papers I worked at in Virginia.
In fairness, the Newseum might have made a go of it if the big media companies had subsidized it as a public relations stunt for an industry that needs all the public relations it can get.
Journalism has always been a sleazy racket, but it wasn’t always a communist sleazy racket ... and I must admit that linotype machines are pretty cool.
I like the one of the women reporter in a canoe crying about a massive flood. When in the background two men stroll past her in the ankle deep water.
That awful looking museum needs a huge Nazi-esque banner with Goebbels out front.
