President Trump on Thursday encouraged Ukraine and China to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son amid growing concerns over how Trump has used his position to pressure foreign governments to look into his political rivals.
“I would think that if they were honest about it they’d start a major investigation into the Bidens,” Trump told reporters at the White House when asked what he wanted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to do about the Bidens following the July 25 call between the two leaders.
The call triggered an intelligence community whistleblower complaint and is at the heart of House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into the president.
Trump on Thursday doubled down on unsubstantiated allegations that Biden and his son, Hunter, engaged in corrupt behavior, also urging a probe by China.
“China should start an investigation into the Bidens,” Trump told reporters before departing for an executive order signing in Florida.
The president, whose administration is currently negotiating with China to resolve a trade dispute, said he had not explicitly asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to open an investigation, but that it’s “certainly something we can start thinking about.”
Trump’s comments are likely to further fuel Democratic calls for impeachment. House Democrats launched an impeachment inquiry last week, and they have zeroed in on Trump soliciting a foreign leader to look into a domestic political rival as the basis for allegations that he abused his office.

The weirdest part about this is that if they Bidens did nothing wrong, this shouldn’t bother them in the slightest.

And why not? Since these idiot libs started this impeachment process - over the crimes Biden committed - Trump’s approval ratings have gone up. And his campaign contributions have increased by millions of dollars.

The bottom line issue is this -—
1) Is this a legitimate law enforcement request ( i.e. part of the President’s duty to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” ( Article II Section 3 Constitution ).
Or
2) Is this the President using his position to gather dirt on his political opponent?
*THAT* really is the bottom line issue.
If they can prove #2, then there is grounds for impeachment. So far, all evidence shows that #1 is the case ( but the Democrats will ignore it to push the case for #2 ).
Note, the quid-pro-quo accusation has been cast aside since the transcripts were released. There is a case to be made that Adam Schiff LIED to the public when he parodied the transcript in his capacity as a seating member of the House Judiciary committee.

Why can the Trumps be investigated (Trump Tower in Moscow, for example), but in the face of obvious extortion, Trump cannot encourage an investigation?
Who would appoint a just booted out of the Navy cocaine abuser to their Board of Directors at $83K per month? Could you get kicked out of the military for drug abuse and get appointed to the board of General Electric or Apple or Microsoft or British Petroleum?
For that matter who starts at the TOP like that? If I start with a new company, don’t I expect to be in some low level job learning the business?
