Bernie Sanders was hospitalized today for "chest discomfort" and it was discovered he had blockage in 2 of his coronary arteries. The doctors placed a couple of stents in the arteries and Sanders should be okay in a couple of days.
But the 78-year-old Sanders is making Democrats nervous. It appears that Democrats have finally realized their top three candidates aren't exactly spring chickens and that they risk much by placing their faith in a candidate who, despite apparent good health, might have an "incident" at any time, making them vulnerable to charges that they're just too old.
Former Vice President Joe Biden, 76, has repeatedly heard questions about his age amid verbal flubs and statements, such as a comment about listening to records during one of the Democratic debates, that underscore how he is of an older generation.
As questions came up about his age and stamina, some allies suggested to the campaign that Biden pace himself.
Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), 70, have heard fewer questions about their age, and Sanders supporters have pointed to their candidate's vigorous schedule and said he had no signs of slowing down. “He walks faster than I walk,” one Sanders ally told The Hill.
But questions for Sanders are likely to step up after Wednesday.
As a senior citizen myself, I know that age shouldn't necessarily be a barrier to the presidency -- except when it is. While all three candidates may, indeed, be the font of health, life has a way of throwing curveballs your way when you're aging, no matter how healthy you think -- or pretend -- to be.

I am in a band with a woman who grew up in Ithaca, NY. Not surprisingly, she is a crazy liberal, the kind who drives a Prius covered with bumper stickers like, "if you need 30 bullets to kill a deer, you need to go fishing." She was recently ranting about fracking in and around Ithaca. She was going on and on about how the fracking companies were using peoples' land for fracking even if the owners were opposed. She, of course, blamed the evil corporations and, by implication, Republicans, and questioned how properties could be used even if the owners opposed it. I explained to her that those properties were being used under the power of eminent domain and that it was the five liberal justices on the Supreme Court who in the 2005 Supreme Court case Kelo v. City of New London supported the proposition that private property could be taken by private companies for private purposes if deemed to be for the good of the people. I further explained that all four of the conservative justices dissented in that opinion because conservatives support protection of private property rights. Do you think that made any difference to her? (It did not.) Liberals really have no idea the impact of their positions because they base everything on emotion rather than logic.

true enough, but the whole issue will cast doubt about his overall fitness, especially amongst those who are less educated about such medical issues ... and this was (and is) way more serious than hillary’s collapse, and look what that did to her situation ...
these kinds of health issues are often more matters of perception than reality when it comes to electability ...

China may offer her so much money to run that she can’t say no. That is, if they don’t think any of the other candidates will do their bidding (or don’t have a chance of being the nominee).
