Whistleblower contacted Schiff before filing complaint: report
The Hill ^ | October 2, 2019 | Chris Mills Rodrigo

The CIA officer whose whistleblower complaint is at the center of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump consulted with the House Intelligence Committee before filing it, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

The whistleblower initially had a colleague convey his concerns that Trump asked Ukraine's leader to intervene in the 2020 presidential election to the CIA's top lawyer before going to Congress, current and former officials told the Times.

The whistleblower then reportedly changed course and spoke to an Intelligence Committee staff member who suggested that the person hire a lawyer and file a complaint.

The staffer shared part of the whistleblower's concerns with the committee's chairman, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), but did share the person's identity with anyone, according to the Times.

“Like other whistle-blowers have done before and since under Republican and Democratic-controlled committees, the whistle-blower contacted the committee for guidance on how to report possible wrongdoing within the jurisdiction of the intelligence community,” Patrick Boland, a spokesperson for Schiff, told the newspaper.

The development will likely add to Trump's attack that the whistleblower was motivated by partisan interests.

The complaint was eventually released to the public last Thursday.

So Schiffty coached the whistleblower?

I guess that makes Schiff a 'fact witness'.

Well, that’s totally out of the chain of command, and more than likely against Federal rules.

Becoming more and more confident that this whistleblower scheme is the product of a White House anti leaker counter espionage sting that Schiff and the leaker swallowed hook, line and sinker.

If so, they stumbled into a sting that would have allowed our counter intel guys enormous freedom to do surveillance to document the entire conspiracy from the start

This would explain a lot.

It also means that the conspirators will have a lot of explaining to do.

It also means Joe and Hunter Biden’s pay for play schemes, Hillary emails, the entire Steele report and Russian Collusion conspiracy and Crowdstrike involvement are going to made a very big deal of in a very bad way with huge public exposure set against a second impeachment frame up job

Best of all, these Obama era corruption cases have become fair game for renewed criminal and counter espionage investigation

If you think Adam Schiffs eyes are bugging out , wait a few.

Did Schiff have enough awareness to rise to level of res mensa and guilty knowledge. Well, President Trump did announce very publicly that Adam Schiff is a very sharp guy

Just sayin’

My takeaway from this latest revelation is this.

We have far too many Government Employees who have nothing better to do than engage in political tricks.

If Government Employees were really busy, they would have no time to waste on politics.

Draining the Swamp is a monumental task. There are factions from all corners of the USA (as well as the World) who have an agenda to keep OUR Government doing what it has been doing.

It would seem the Senate intel committee now has cause to paper Langley with subpoenas. The CIA blower may have statutory protections but his chain of command certainly does not. I won’t hold my breath waiting for that to happen, of course.

It was funny how Trump was intent on cutting Roberts off but then must have picked up something that told him he wanted to hear the 2nd question.

Funny how the letter wasn't addressed or sent to the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Why are you telling that blatant lie?
The letter...https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/20190812_-_whistleblower_complaint_unclass.pdf

Right there at the top left...

The Honorable Richard Burr
Chairman
Senate Intelligence Committee

Shitt for brains is next.
Or were you just ignorant of the fact that Burr had been sent the letter?
Ignorance burns around here.

This is a news release concerning the matter, not a letter.

My biggest regret is that, overlooking acute illness, I’m too old to be able to piss on Schiff’s grave.

Pelosi and Reid are another story entirely....

The way I see it, this impeachment BS is falling apart and won’t even get to the Senate. The Dems are scared Schiffless about discovery.

Not really. I’m sure the Dems would love 6 months of discovery tying up Senate business. That would wipe out the final year of Trump’s first team.

Did Schiff have enough awareness to rise to level of res mensa and guilty knowledge.

The actual latin phrase is rens mea which is intent of crime or the knowledge of such.

res mensa would mean Table Thing. Which by association, would be Donald Trump, stable genius.

Ha! Let's see you top *that* one.

Yep. Straight out of a CIA ops manual. No doubt.
