LET THEM GO AHEAD AND IMPEACH TRUMP.... HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS THEN......

By: Hyram F. Suddfluffel, PhD, (Political Science) I have a degree in Political Science, and I am a card-carrying Libertarian. I've been studying politics and political history for the past 30 years. My specialty is U.S. Presidents. That said, I hope that the House of Representatives impeaches Trump. Let me tell you what will happen next!

1. The House can pass articles of impeachment over the objections of the Republicans, and refer to the Senate for trial. 2. The Senate will conduct a trial. There will be a vote, and the Republicans will vote unanimously, along with a small number of Democrats, to not convict the President. Legally, it will all be over at that point. 3. However, during the trial, and this is what no one is thinking about right now, the President's attorneys will have the right to subpoena and question ANYONE THEY WANT.. That is different than the special counsel investigation, which was very one-sided. So, during the impeachment trial, we will be hearing testimony from James Comey, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Bruce Ohr, Glenn Simpson, Donna Brazile, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Christopher Steele, Hillary Clinton, John Brennan, James Clapper, and a whole host of other participants in this whole sordid affair and the ensuing cover up activities. A lot of dirt will be dug up; a lot of truth will be unveiled. Finger pointing will occur. Deals will start being made, and suddenly, a lot of democrats will start being charged and going to prison. All this, because, remember, the President's team will now, for the first time, have the RIGHT to question all of these people under oath – and they will turn on each other. That is already starting. 4. Lastly, one more thing will happen, the Senate will not convict the President. Nothing will happen to Trump. Most Americans are clueless about political processes, the law, and the Constitution. Most Americans believe that being impeached results in removal from office. They don't understand that phase 2 is a trial in and by the Senate, where he has zero chance of conviction. Remember, the Senate is controlled by Republicans; they will determine what testimony is allowed -- and **everything** will be allowed, including: DNC collusion with the Clinton campaign to fix the election in favor of Hillary, the creation of the Trump dossier, the cover up and destruction of emails that very likely included incriminating information. They will incriminate each other for lying to the FISA court, for spying and wiretapping the Trump campaign, and for colluding with foreign political actors, especially George Soros.

After the Senate declines to convict the President, we will have an election, and Trump will win. It will be a backlash against democrat petulance, temper tantrums, hypocrisy and dishonesty. Even minorities will vote for Trump, because, for the first time, they will see that democrats have spent 2+ years focused on maintaining their own power, and not doing anything at all about black murders in Chicago, homelessness, opioids, and other important issues that are actually killing people. And, we will spend the following four years listening to politicians and pundits claim that the whole impeachment was rigged.

So let's move on to impeachment.

Hyram F. Suddfluffel, PhD

I think you’re way too optimistic...I don’t believe the ‘Turtle’ will allow much of a discovery or investigation into the Democrats...

“If it makes it to the Senate, conviction is a very likely outcome.”

LOL, what an astoundingly ignorant thing to say! The House already has the votes to impeach...you do know that, right?

That being the case and you being convinced the votes are there in the Senate to convict, explain to us all why the Libs haven’t ALREADY voted to impeach? According to you they cannot lose.

I’ve come across a lot of weak sister, doomsayers on this forum but you rank among the worst of them and what makes you so bad is there’s no logic in what you say.

For instance you say conviction is a done deal? Great so know list the 20 Republican Senators who will vote to convict and also explain WHY you believe they will.

I’ll wait for your reply but I won’t hold my breath.

This is a political process, not a legal one.

People keep saying that but it has never been tested. Clinton's articles included high crimes.

I could see that if the House passed articles like "obstructing" a non existent crime, the first thing done in the Senate trial will be the equivalent of a motion to dismiss since no "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes or Misdemeanors" were presented.

Might be the shortest Impeachment trial in history.

Remember when those protesters were sitting outside Leader of the U.S. Senate Senator Mitch MccConnell home? He was r

The radical Leftist recorded threatening his life outside his home. They even recored it and posted it.

The next day the Mitch posted a video about how this should not happen on Twitter. Twitter censored him, but left the threatening videos up.

Did the Republicans and Mitch go after Twitter for publicly threatening public officials? Nope they did nothing even thought it is HIGHLY ILLEAGAL to threaten public officials on line.

The reason I mentioned the above reminder is to say I would not count on the U.S. Senate not removing President Trump. I would not be surprised if Senators are pressured, blackmailed, threatened, etc... and do it.

Keep in mind too that Hillary is now coming out next week for a possible 2020 run. She would not be running in the election of 2020 would be fixed for her. Just like the DNC Primary in 2016

The Swamp is going to remove President Trump so that Hillary does not have to run against him. They do not want risk another 2016 loss even though they have it rigged.

They are going to dellute everyone’s votes with illegals voting, multiple votes, dead voting, stealing States with the electronic machines, etc...

Trust me the Deep State will not allow President Trump to get reelected in 2020. They will remove him first to assure Hillary does not have to run against him.

There are several problems with this theory of his.

No evidence is going to stop the Democrats from voting for conviction lock step 100%. The days of rational thinking are long gone. Think jury nullification. All evidence will be ignored. You could present the perfect defense. It likely wouldn't matter.

Guys like Mitt Romney, Susan Collins... and on and on it goes, are not a lock vote to support Trump either. Four crossovers on our side could doom Trump and the nation.

Right now it's 53 republiCons, 45 demnocRats, and 2 indePendants.

So whose neck are the indePendants going to hand from?

Tossing this to the U. S. Senate portends a real possibility of national disaster.

In addition to that, what does this do to his chances of re-election survival even if he does dodge the Impeachment?

If it winds up 49/51 or 50/50, it will be sold as him being so soiled he could barely scrape by, meaning he's dirty anyway.

The idea Trump is up for impeachment on the premise he's as dirty as Bill Clinton was, is absurd to the max. None the less, that's how the media will play it up.

DemnocRats these days are pure evil, and any republiCon who would cross ever to vote for impeachment, > IMO < even worse.

every GOP senator in a competitive state will lose to a Rat. GOP turn out will be low

Maybe that's the endgame. Put the R-senators on the ropes to vote for impeachment. Their constituents vote them out, or don't vote at all. Boom, they're rid of Trump AND have the house and senate back.

Then we get Pence and his nomination for VP without consent of the senate.

“. . . the Republicans will vote unanimously, along with a small number of Democrats, to not convict the President.”

Including Romney? I don’t think so. Romney can’t forgive or forget that Trump won the election, something Romney couldn’t do. Nor can Romney forgive or forget that Trump interviewed him for Sec of State and then picked someone else. For Romney, this is personal, IMHO.

Pence won’t be able to stand near the heat, hatred, and pressure President Trump has on a 24/7 365 basis. Lose Trump, you lose it all. But if it happens, you can see for yourself.

IOW, they can drag this farce out so long, Pence will be halfway through his second term as POTUS before they can vote on anything. Sauce for the goose.

It's too late for dhs.

The automatic key word monitors have already logged, and red flagged that post. dhs is now on the "watch list."

Such a motion would need only a bare majority.
