It’s a free for all, you can walk into Walmart and walkout with $500 worth of stuff with impunity. you still have to get through any security guys they have but the Police will NOT even respond to shoplifting calls, it is a Civil Matter!!!

Combine that with retailers instructing their employees not to deter the thieves because they will pretend to hurt their back in the process and sue, forcing the employer to settle.

More stores going out of business, more loss of jobs, and more lawlessness.

LOL. They have done the same thing in Dallas, Texas. I am sure it will work out differently there...…/s

The Libiots always do the opposite of what should be done. Maybe harsher penalties would deter the criminals from stealing!

“These plots are known as “mass grab and dash” thefts and they generally involve large numbers of young people all entering a store at the same time, grabbing armfuls of merchandise and dashing back out to their vehicles and hitting the highway. Not only are robberies on the rise, but arrests and prosecutions are down. Who could possibly have predicted this?”

I think this is more race and age. These robberies would be over $1000.00.

Democrats couldn’t run a state if it had a steering wheel and an automatic transmission.

One symptom of the mental disorder called liberalism is the total inability to foresee consequences of actions.

More brick and mortar stores going to “order online and pick it up” and “free home delivery”

No chance of theft (aside from CC fraud).

This will make the store into a show room, with one example of each and a kiosk to place your order. Then have it come out from the stock room all paid for,

I believe plenty of us do just as many of us understand my state, the People's Republic of New York. You have multiple AOC types in state government who either sincerely believe the BS they're peddling or sincerely want to tear down the society. Regardless of which they are, you get laws like decriminalizing retail theft which satisfies both of them.
