Someone told me that the local Tesla station will charge one in 20 minutes if it is not too dead. Maybe he was wrong.

The solution tho is nuclear power with total safeguards.

When Buc-ee’s In Texas puts recharging stations at their outlets, then I might consider a hybrid.

There’s enough to pass the time at Buc-ee’s While your EV is recharging.

Might be an opportunity for someone who could set up a charging station/casino.

On the edge of large cities...H’mmm you have to expend the charge in your electric car just to get to a recharging station that will give you enough of a charge to get back to where you came from? Perhaps have a theme park for the hours it takes to recharge.

How long does it take to recharge an electric car?

“Maybe. Best of luck, Mr. Foley.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Indeed.
I work for lighting company and there are a lot of “with it” electrical engineers here. We have four recharge stations occupied by two Nissan Leafs (or is it “leaves”?) and a Tesla.
I was talking to the Tesla kid about his ride. He boasted of its acceleration prowess. I get that...darned hard to beat an electric motor for torque. I then asked him about the range. He looked down at the floor and mumbled something along the lines of 330 miles. Whatever floats your boat, dude.
I run a VW Jetta TDI, and I can easily best that range by more than 2x on a tank. While he’s pulling off and recharging at a Love’s, I’ll be rollin’ on by at 75 MPH.
I have not seen any info on electric vehicles, say, when they’re operating in a 10°F environment. That has to degrade things considerably.
Jimmy Carter got advice from his teenage daughter.
Maybe that explains why he was such a colossal failure as president.
And they plan to file a lawsuit against whomever sets off an atomic bomb within the city limits. That is what caused the Soviets to end the Cold War. [last sentence is sarcasm]
Sounds like a tax write off venture to me.
snip
The station will feature four dispensers that connect to a high-powered,
200kW system. The system will allow four vehicles to charge simultaneously
and reach 80% battery charge in 20 to 30 minutes. Drivers can go inside
and sit in an automated convenience store with screens that allow drivers
to track their vehicle’s charging progress.
I predict out of business in 12 months.
Maybe 6 months. But, it’s just a guess.
I remember driving my mother’s Ford Pinto from Ft. Huachuca to Ft. Hood back in 1979. From El Paso to LB Johnson City there was a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong distance between gas stations.
Darn it. I was hoping to move there and concealed-carry some B-83’s, too. There goes my whole 5-year plan.
