Ukrainian prosecutor tied to Trump scandal says Hunter Biden 'did not violate anything' (Spin)

Ukraine's former prosecutor general said in a new interview that his investigation into Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, was abandoned after turning up no evidence of wrongdoing on Hunter Biden's behalf.

Yuri Lutsenko, who resigned earlier this year and now at the center of the scandal surrounding President Trump's efforts to convince Ukraine's president to launch an investigation into Joe Biden, denied that his investigation was ended due to pressure from the Obama administration in an interview with The Washington Post.

“From the perspective of Ukrainian legislation, he did not violate anything,” Lutsenko said of Hunter Biden. “Hunter Biden cannot be responsible for violations of the management of Burisma that took place two years before his arrival."

Lutsenko told the Post that until his resignation in August, he never received any aid from U.S. investigators, even following Trump's July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky which has become the center of House Democrats' impeachment inquiry.

“No American groups came to Ukraine for an investigation," he said.

Washington Post spin.

While it may be true Hunter Biden wasn't 'responsible for violations of the management of Burisma' it doesn't explain how and why Hunter Biden was hired for the job (his qualifications) and why his father Joe Biden pushed for the prosecutor to be fired (within a 6 hour deadline) and if it was tied to giving money and aid to Ukraine.

Wrong focus by the author.

Joe didn't want his son's Golden Goose prosecuted.

He’s right. Biden was just an “employee” of a company that was under investigation. He was getting paid $50,000 a month for doing nothing at all. So he did his duty of doing nothing. Nothing right. Nothing wrong. Just nothing.

Is this the same prosecutor who was fired by Biden? So the Ukraine would get that Billion Dollars in US aid?

I am not surprised he is not blasting Biden. He probably got a huge payday for losing his job AND keeping his mouth shut.

"...Hunter Biden was hired for the job (his qualifications)..."

As Republican Louisiana Senator John N. Kennedy said when he appeared on Chuck Todd's show the other day: "Do You Think They Got Hunter Biden’s Name Off ZipRecruiter?"

Exactly - that was the problem, no Americans came.

But Biden said “People looked at this and there was nothing there.” Whoever looked at it did not go to the Ukraine.

He's probably right, but the drive-bys won't tell you why. Almost no other countries have an equivalent to our Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. So, pay-to-play is perfectly legal in most other countries.

Can there be any other explanation for Hunter's $50,000 per month salary but he was peddling influence as the son of the Vice President of the United States?

Hunter didn’t have to do anything wrong for there to be a huge problem. All he had to do was to accept his “job” as a director and collect his money. Just his mere existence in that job while being Biden’s son, is no crime on his part. I do, however, know that he had absolutely no ties with Ukraine, nor any knowledge regarding that company’s business, so it is clear that he got the job for some other reason...

...and that reason is CLEARLY that he is Joe Biden’s son, and Joe Biden was the VPOTUS. The oligarch who ran/runs the company merely has to let people know that Hunter Biden is on his board, and all kinds of doors open to him. That Hunter was being paid $50K/month is a (very) thinly veiled bribe - and EVERYONE knows it (it is just that the vast majority of people in this country didn’t even know that Hunter HAD that job until the last week or so.

But even more of a problem is that Biden himself bragged about threatening the Ukrainian government with the loss of a $1 billion loan guarantee if the President there didn’t fire the prosecutor who was investigating the company on which his son sat on the Board of Directors. Then the guy actually was fired (in a matter of hours), and the aid went through. Biden BRAGGED ABOUT IT!!!

So Hunter Biden did nothing in particular wrong - or at least it would be hard to prove it. Daddy says, “hey, son, go talk to this guy and he’ll probably be able to get you a good job.” So he goes and, miracle of miracles, he gets a $600K/year job. It is hard to PROVE that he knew that this was part of an elaborate bribe campaign (though he’d have to pretty much be a meth-head to not know that...oh, wait, never mind).

This is going to destroy Joe Biden - not in the press, but with the US public.

This author is an idiot. Joe Biden’s mook son Hunter Biden was hired by Burisima for protection to cover for the crimes they had already committed and we're going to commit; that is why Hunter was getting paid over $50,000 a month. Joe Biden was protecting Burisima because the Biden Crime Family was paid off by Burisima in an ongoing “no-show” job. This is how the mafia takes in protection money.

That is really the point. They can pay someone crazy amounts that don’t make sense, that is their business. If they get some special consideration via an elected official, problem.

Nobody, absolutely nobody, thinks you hire a guy with no experience to sit on a board and get paid $50K per month, and then get a billion dollar equity with no experience for either. Obviously, they were getting something in addition to Hunter.

I see. Makes sense.

He knows how his predecessor got fired. He is making sure NOT to repeat the same mistake.
