But the effort was partly aimed at Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin, one of a swelling group of freshmen Democrats who represent districts Trump carried in 2016 and have come out in support of an impeachment inquiry.

supporters were taken to a landing page where they were invited to contribute to a joint fundraising account, with proceeds split evenly between Trump’s reelection campaign and a fund for the eventual Republican nominee in Slotkin’s district.

Through Tuesday evening, the anti-Slotkin fundraising campaign had generated over $350,000, with half going to the president and half going to the Michigan race.

The Democrats may not realize it, but all of this ‘chatter’ simply hypes up people (regular people, not the normal donation VIP crowd)...to go and donate $100 to $250. We aren’t even into January of 2020 yet....nor even in the final 52 weeks of the campaign. Trump? I’m betting that he clears by mid-summer 2020....one billion dollars from just regular people, and he might even get another half-a-billion by November 2020.

If he splits some of this money off and aims for various House districts....it’s going to tear the heart out of the Democratic campaign strategy.
