In the 93d Congress, Vice President Agnew used a letter to the Speaker to attempt to initiate an investigation by the House of charges against him of possible impeachable offenses, but the House took no action on the request.
Look at the language of the resolution. Dismiss as smoke'n'mirrors what words the various liars in Congress utter.
Right. Impeachment is a House function. If they have the votes the House can impeach anyone for anything.
I don’t see the Senate convicting Trump over this ridiculous nonsense. So Trump stays in office and hopefully gets reelected.
However I think the dems believe this impeachment will siphon off some votes. Between MSM propaganda, fraud and the so-called impeachment cloud the dems think they can keep Trump from winning. At least I believe that is what they are feeling (not sure one could call it thinking).

There is no traction there with the rank-and-file. The rank-and-file are so dazzled by full employment - they simply have tuned out DC.

Biden-Warren was doomed to failure , and so the Democrats have decided to throw the hot dog down the hall.
This will not end as Nixon did, and I fear this will not even end as Clinton did, when he picked up seats after being impeached.

Is it that you don’t know that fundamental Constitutional requirement, or refuse to look it up?

That’s not in the Constitution. To be removed from office requires a 2/3 vote in the Senate. While there are enough R traitors that a simple majority is very slimly possible, a 2/3 majority is not possible. That would mean getting every single D senator to vote yes (which is dubious) and flipping 20 of 53 republicans, which is not going to happen.
Looks like the inquiry requires “charges” to start with...not a hunt for charges.
