WASHINGTON—House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she is directing an impeachment inquiry into President Trump following reports that the president withheld aid to Ukraine while he was pressing the country to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son.

“Today, I’m announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry,” Mrs. Pelosi said in the Capitol, in front of several American flags. “The action taken to date by the president appears to violate the constitution.”...

‘With the corrupt Dems, I see no future for this country without a civil war.’

please define what you mean by ‘civil war’ in our modern age...it’s highly unlikely that a bloc of states will vote to secede from the Union and be able to muster a military with which to conduct armed conflict...

She doesn’t have the votes in the house based on what I have read.

It means she had a full House vote on it, and they decided to start an impeachment inquiry. Except the last time, the vote was an emphatic “NO!” Have they had any votes while nobody was looking?

Worth listening to Mark Levin who is presenting a most cogent, fact-filled analysis. Though never a "Never-Trumper," Levin was very much against Trump during the 2016 primaries. However, when Trump became the nominee, Levin supported him. Today, primarily based on Trump's accomplishments since assuming office, Levin has become one of the president's strongest supporters.

Tune in to Levin ... his monologue underway right now is most enlightening.

Referral to Committee

Resolutions introduced through the hopper that directly call for an impeachment are referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, whereas resolutions merely calling for a committee investigation with a view toward impeachment are referred to the Committee on Rules.

Biden incident is just the tip of iceberg. The dnc and Clinton campaign had asked Ukraine to collude during the election. That’s how the manifort material got drug in later.

Rats are gonna rue the day they insisted that the telephone material became public

“There’s a Democrat representing a district in Minnesota that Trump won by almost 35 points in 2016. That guy might vote to impeach Trump simply because it’s probably his last term in office no matter how he votes.“

That’s fine. The only thing that kept MN blue in 1968 was native son Humpert Humpback. Otherwise Nixon would have pwnd the future Rust Belt.

Congress and the press play fast and loose with the language, and aim to obscure the process. This is true in general, not just with this sham.

Congress is a criminal enterprise.

“the senate vote can do that right?“

Here’s how it works.

The House has authority to vote on articles of impeachment. If they vote on articles of impeachment, it is akin to a criminal indictment. The “trial” is conducted by the Senate with the full Senate acting as a jury. A 2/3 vote is required to remove the president. Failure to get a 2/3 vote ends the impeachment proceedings and the president remains in office.

Now, Pelosi’s inquiry is not an impeachment proceeding by law. It’s just “we are going to run our stupid mouths about impeachment for a while before we decide whether we are having a vote on it.” It has no legal meaning.

I wish they would pass articles of impeachment against Trump. They will fail and annihilate Dem chances in 2020.

IIRC, the house must get a simple majority vote to begin the process, then they must form managers for each charge, then the house must vote on each charge. Only those that get past that stage go to the senate where they need a 3/4 vote to convict. I’m sure I’m missing some details but that is the basics.

“What does an official inquiry mean?”

Absolutely nothing. There is no such thing.

The democraps have not accepted the outcome of the 2016 election.

”there is a good chance that this coming election sees an electoral vote tally of 269-269”

Yeah here is what I expound to you: Put down the paint rag....

All the D representatives in purple districts can say goodbye to their seats if they vote along party lines. IMO

“Impeachment inquiry”? Is that like an “assault weapon “?

Exactly. Their current crop of candidates doesn’t inspire any confidence outside the racial left and they know that. They need to do something, but have nothing, IMHO.

Don’t you love how the Demon party is spouting that “no one is above the law”. Unless you’re a DemonicRat, of course. We must be in the end times, bad is called good and good is called bad.

One reason among a legion of others to vote against the left (that even conservative media has not voiced) is so many of their leading characters want to prosecute/impeach with zero evidence. Kavanaugh and Trump in the just the last couple weeks. Imagine what they will do with more power to average Americans who disagree with them.
