Mayor Pete Buttigieg expressed his dissatisfaction with the concept of carrying a gun after serving in Afghanistan.
“Over time, I realized having a gun made me feel smaller, not bigger,” he said during a conversation about guns with a BuzzFeed reporter as part of his bus tour in Iowa.
The mayor was asked about his feelings on guns as a veteran who served in Afghanistan in the Navy Reserves but apparently did not engage in combat.
Earlier in September, Buttigieg criticized men who had their “sense of manhood wrapped up in owning a gun.”
“[I]f it gets to where your sense of manhood is wrapped up in owning a gun, I think that’s where our culture is on the wrong track,” Buttigieg said in an interview with TMZ Live.

When I carry I feel somewhat safer but feel also the weight of a serious responsibility.
Maybe that’s what he means by “smaller”. That he is not capable of the responsibility. Which is assuming he understands the concept of personal responsibility. Which is unlikely since he is a far left loon.

Hey, Mayor Pete. Do your bodyguards carry guns? And what about the building security at South Bend City Hall? Do they carry guns?
If so, you should immediately disarm them. Because those guns certainly make those folks feel small. Do them all a big favor, and take their guns away from them.

This just adds to my theory that this entire slate of Democrat contenders does not want to get the nomination for President. Contending for the nomination is fun and profitable, but seems none actually want to go up against Trump.
There is a contingent of pro-gun Democrats. Maybe not large nor vocal, and certainly approve of “sensible restrictions”, but are in no way inclined to support an ex-military contender who not only is generally anti-gun, but obviously has psychological problems (see headline) when it comes to weapons. The Left just can’t afford to have a candidate that instantly alienates a bigger number of adherents than they need to sway their way to not get Mondaled come 2020.
And the ones that Petey carries don’t do anything at all.
His actual experience is the opposite or what he claims other people's experience is.

I bet my bottom dollar that he would be real scared if a competent killer came after him with even a little gun and him unarmed Say an 8 shot .22 mag.
I will admit that I would be even myself if I were unarmed. I would at least have a Spyderco with a 4.5 inch blade clipped to my belt. and another in pocket
