Eating meat could be made illegal like smoking in pubs, says top barrister
Eating meat could become illegal in the future due to the damage caused to the environment, says a leading barrister calling for a new ecocide law.
Michael Mansfield QC says new legislation is needed to criminalise the wilful destruction of nature, which he described as a crime against humanity.
There are plenty of things that were once commonplace that are now illegal such as smoking inside.
We know that because the UN has told us so.
The organisation's director, Juliet Gellatley, said: Thirty years ago people didn't bat an eyelid if you lit a cigarette in a pub or restaurant. But now society accepts smoking is harmful and totally unnecessary and so we legislated against it.
The same could happen with eating meat.

I can see this happening. Look at the plastic hysteria. The soda hysteria. The environment hysteria. And on and on. The populous as a whole are sheep.
I think that was called genocide.
Just got back from Scotland. Our trip included free, hot, buffet breakfast every morning. I couldn’t eat their meat. Period. The sausage looked uncooked and tasted bland. The ‘bacon’ I think was Canadian bacon and looked uncooked. They did always have a cold plate of ham and cheese that was okay so I had ham at breakfast every morning. This was in 3 different hotels in Edinburgh, Inverness, and Glasgow.
We did have a few really good cheeseburgers if we ordered dinner though. It’s like they were the only thing worth eating. We found a few McDonalds, Subways, and Taco Bells to eat at instead most times.
I don’t even think half of THEM are still around.
Although, 15 years ain’t that long....
Although, ALOT can happen in just 5 or so....

So, no haggis? I eat beef haggis every Sunday out of a can......with eggs and tatties.....Never been to the Motherland, don’t plan on it lest I be hanged....
If I smoke in the pub I could possibly harm your health, if I eat meat there, nothing will happen to you...honest!!!
