Cholera was unknown in Haiti? I find that hard to believe.

Without immunity, nobody will let their troops participate in peacekeeping missions. That may not be such a bad outcome.

Seems to me this should be a simple to rule on case. Other than politics, which can make a P.B.J. sandwich difficult commonsense, and precedent should prevail. The U.N. is who hands out the blue helmets.

I believe you are thinking of one of the Lethal Weapon sequels.

10,000 deaths in Haiti brought to it by the oh-so-competent UN? Remember, this is the world government that “Pope Bergolio” wants us to surrender our souls, as well as our lives to.

Hey, Pope Baby, I’ve got some swamp land in Florida you might want to build a cathedral on! Gimme a call.

Does Haiti even have standing to file with the Supreme Court? They’re their own country.

lol

Yeah but then who would watch the murders, rapes and genocides while holding guns and doing nothing?

Probably a dumb idea but a sort of US Foreign Legion made up of ex military US guys, who charge a handsome fee to do this kind of work, could make some guys some good money..

Or not. What the hell do i know :)

Same here. Not to say the Nepalese troops didn’t arrive infected, but if there was ever a place where the usual water supply is home to every bacterium known to science it would be Haiti.

Perhaps because the UN is located in the US, and there may be a treaty provision, just surmising.

Perhaps it’s American citizens with relatives who died that are actually suing.

After the numerous rapes, murders, drunk driving deaths, etc on the part of UN personnel....THIS is the case that the SCOTUS will rule upon?!

I’m pretty sure the Federal courts had previously dismissed this case not because the U.N. has immunity, but because the U.S. courts have no jurisdiction in the matter.

This case seems like a long shot at best for the plaintiffs.

The UN is nothing more than a cult and should be eliminated.

Why should anyone have diplomatic immunity? If we choose to go into their country we are expected to obey their laws, just as they should when they are here, Why is there even such a thing as diplomatic immunity?
