Sen. Kamala D. Harris hit the panic button Thursday on her free-falling campaign, announcing an Iowa-or-bust strategy that she hopes will put her on an Obama-like glide to the nomination.
She also raised the stakes by vowing to quit the race if she can’t muster a win, place or show in the Hawkeye State’s leadoff caucuses Feb. 3.
“We want to make sure that we have a strong top-three finish,” said Harris campaign manager Juan Rodriguez. “I think that will kind of continue to give us a slingshot to go into that early primary state calendar and then make sure that we’re also competitive heading into Super Tuesday.”

Well, strictly speaking, she's not a "state worker" of the government of California, she gets her paycheck from the federal government. At least one of her paychecks, anyway.
But in a larger sense, you're right. She's kind of undermining her home state's policy of punishing other states in our union for not toeing the line. I'm sure that will lose her a lot of votes in California, ha ha.
The funny thing is IIRC her “Jamaican” father is white and her POC mother is Indian (as in the sub continent). So she has NEVER been “African American” and her upbringing was anything but difficult. When the real African Americans learned all this (wonder who told them?) her “black” support cratered. Until then I am sure she thought South Carolina would be a lock for her and launch her into the nomination. Now she needs Iowa to stay alive.
Let her go back to what she and Hillary do best - boinking a sleezebag for political gain.

IA is one of the whitest states in the union. Her race-baiting and pandering isn’t winning over voters.
Harris is Hillary with a tan minus the backing of the DNC machine. Stick a fork in her; she’s done.
Her unlikability is right up there next to NY’s Kirsten Gillibrand who dropped out awhile back.
Here own state does not think much of her either.
She’s moved the goalposts so a third place finish will be declared a win for her. I assume she figures she can’t pass Biden and Warren so she is aiming to beat the rest of the crowd. If she can’t muster third place against the likes of Castro, Booker, and the rest of those single digit braying radical communists than she should be embarrassed.
