The H-1B program uses cheap foreign workers to replace American workers, and so it dramatically reduces payrolls in legislators’ districts, according to a comparison of two federal databases. The reduced payroll does not go to the local restaurants, landlords, or various members of the local Chambers of Commerce. The funds do not get to local non-profits, county governments, or city halls. Instead, the diverted payroll is transferred from the politicians’ districts to the coastal investors who hire the cheap H-1Bs in place of Americans, according to U.S. and Indian financial reports.
The diverted payroll is important because the Senate is expected to vote September 19 on a bill — S.386 — that would reward Indian college-graduates if they agree to take jobs from American graduates, via the uncapped “Optional Practical Training” and H-1B visa programs.
Nationwide, roughly 800,000 foreign college-graduates — including about 600,000 Indians — are using the H-1B program to work jobs that were held by American college graduates. H-1Bs are cheap because many take the jobs in exchange for their employers’ promise to nominate them for a hugely valuable, taxpayer-funded green card.

While our young people were being scammed by our lib universities into taking out loans and getting a degree in black lesbian studies, the Indians were learning business principles and software coding. US universities are failing the young people while pocketing money from tuition.
There’s PLENTY of Americans who could take this job.

Our public schools failed these kids with LGBTQ studies, anti bully nonsense, everyone gets a trophy, etc.
Instead of teaching real math and science, they teach propaganda “science” and “feel good math”. Our schools suck
So when then leave these schools, math, science, computer coding, look really hard and difficult so they go for “black lesbian studies” because it is all listening to bull shiat all day and write a final paper, that they pretty much cut and pasted from google anyways.
Colleges still get paid regardless.

Exactly. Once again, it’s not just tech. The banks are stuffed full of H1b Indians. It is a system that essentially reproduces indentured servitude for those in it. For Americans, it crushes their bargaining power. H1b and other work visas need to be drastically curbed. Shut down the Cheap Labor Express.
A lot of the “universities” that these Indian OPT students attend are nothing but diploma mills which produce paperwork needed to secure the visa in exchange for cold, hard cash.

Scammed? No one is forcing them to pursue majors of dubious use. They and their parents need to do some due diligence and understand the employment prospects of someone holding a degree with a major such as that.

America has PLENTY of STEM graduates and PLENTY of highly skilled workers for IT enterprises.
I’ve been in this business for 40 years. Most men my age cannot land a tech job, not because they don’t have the skills, or have not kept current.
It’s because employers hire H-1Bs to avoid US wage standards and to work them 70hrs/week without any insurance.
And our entire US Congress is complicit, as is our President.
I live next door to WalMart Ground Zero, iow, Bentonville AR. We are up to our a**es in Indians here. About half the kids in my daughter’s charter school are Indian.

and/or illegal migrant wages as either profit (*) or compensation for mandated government minority hires (**).
it is not rocket science. it is as easy as 1-2-3.
(*) also, if you do not do it, most of your competitors will, and undercut you just enough for you to go out of business.
a h1-b or illegal migrant is tagged by businesses as lowest cost human resource.
(**) not infrequently, a cost of doing business in the sense of a pure expense.
