Investors are rushing a bill through the GOP-run Senate that would reward Indian college graduates for taking U.S. college-level jobs at low wages from young American graduates.
Utah GOP Sen. Mike Lee will ask the Senate on Thursday to approve his Indian outsourcing bill via Unanimous Consent. If no Senator objects, the radical bill will be considered to have passed the Senate.
A similar bill has already passed the House, numbered HR.1044, with the aid of 140 GOP votes.
Both bills are backed by Indias government that wishes to grow its economy by exporting more workers into jobs in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. The Lee/Harris bill would encourage this outsourcing by rewarding at least 100,000 Indian workers and spouses with green cards each year, up from the current country cap award of 20,000 green cards to Indians.
GOP Majority Sen. Mitch McConnell has the power to block the unanimous consent vote, as does any single Democratic or GOP Senator.
Officials working for President Donald Trump have not said if he will support or block the outsourcing bill.
The bill is being pushed by Lee and by Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris, who is now running for the Democrats presidential nomination.

Guess where else you can find "ALOT of smart" people?
I am usually intensely serious about our country’s future and appreciate effective action more than just talk.
You had a really good post—that will likely not be seen by anyone who can effect a change. Change in something about which you seemed to care strongly...
If no one ever takes the initiative to do something beyond keyboard warring, no one will stand in the gap and then how are things going to change?
Indian techies are allowed to lie on resumes about fake skills.
Why arent American workers allowed to lie about fake skills??
Where is Congress support?? MAGA??
Congress is being paid big bucks by companies like GOOG, FB, MSFT expand cheap labor workforce. Also, there are now Indian lobbying firms chipping into the coffers of our “elected representatives.” US citizens and US students don’t seem to have lobbying in their interest :(
REPLACEMENT MIGRATION.
Diversity means Darker Replaces Lighter.
And as Billy Jack said, there is not a damn thing you can do about it!
But suffer.
The SWAMP rules.
We have the mega-party with two branches on one side and we have President Trump on the other side.
“We don’t need a single Indian citizen in our workforce.”
I agree; I’ve watched what occurred in tech years ago spread to the financial sector - and as in tech, there was no shortage of Americans with those skills. This is basic wage suppression as part of an adjustment to Western standards of living; many young people today have already given up hope of owning a home, having a family, or RETIRING instead of dying on the job because of these policies. Asians are the white-collar replacement Americans, whereas Hispanics are the replacement blue-collar Americans - and the demographic changes wrought by these policies are very disturbing. These aren’t imminent changes, or something years down the road - they are already occurring: Worsening negative birthrate for “Americans”, less interest in higher education by Americans who understand employers want Asian coolies instead, and a very fast replacement of people with American ideals and traditions with foreign others with no such beliefs.
It isn’t just about paying Indians less; while they are sponsored they are basically indentured servants who can be worked seven days per week. When they eventually get citizenship, the company simply replaces them with more sponsored coolies - they have no use for an Indian-AMERICAN, because they’d want weekends, vacations, lunch breaks, etc..
They are filling northern NJ as well; they come from a backwards sh!thole with well over a billion people to export. Decades ago our colleges were filling with them; now offices are as well.
There are Indian populations in most former British colonies (usually from the colonial era itself instead of post-independence); I guess it was just our turn. People in Trinidad and Fiji complain about their tactics in those places, and now Americans do as well.
Also try understanding some oriental accents when you get one on the other end after calling a customer service center. I don’t know what’s worse, talking to the noise activated and often glitchy machine prompts or having a person answer but then you can barely have a conversation.
Below is a summary of the bill.
Seems like it helps us to get more “high quality” immigrants (visas, not citizenship).
**************************
This bill increases the per-country cap on family-based immigrant visas from 7% of the total number of such visas available that year to 15%, and eliminates the 7% cap for employment-based immigrant visas. It also removes an offset that reduced the number of visas for individuals from China.
The bill also establishes transition rules for employment-based visas from FY2020-FY2022, by reserving a percentage of EB-2 (workers with advanced degrees or exceptional ability), EB-3 (skilled and other workers), and EB-5 (investors) visas for individuals not from the two countries with the largest number of recipients of such visas. Of the unreserved visas, not more than 85% shall be allotted to immigrants from any single country.
The same way trumps gun control package is.
This is how you lose elections and get socialist governments. I will not vote in ‘20 if this goes all the way through. Can’t work, locked out, then bring on the free shit.
There are a lot of smart Americans, just sayin’.
So will I. How can Trump be so tone deaf and hypocritical to sign his? I hope he comes to his senses and realizes this is ball game.
May they all burn for this.
“A similar bill has already passed the House, numbered HR.1044, with the aid of 140 GOP votes.”
I hate these maggots.
Get the veto pen ready, Pres. Trump!
Be sure to watch Lou Dobbs tonite. I am sure he will rip into this.
Will I get the FBI on my case if I call anti American Lee’s office and call him a maggot?
Republicans hate unions and wonder why they ever came about. It’s this kind of sh!t that makes unions appealing. If IT workers had a union they’d be represented on K Street. At least it might be a fair fight.
You mean "There are a lot..." and I can tell you that there are a lot of smart American STEM grads whose speech is intelligible. Not the mumbled*ckery one hears from the H1Bs...
