One of the two New York Times reporters behind the much-maligned article detailing a new accusation of sexual misconduct against Brett Kavanaugh acknowledged that she knew the Supreme Court justice in college.
Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly adapted a story from their upcoming book for an article in the New York Times about Kavanaugh. The piece, which was published on Saturday, alleged that one of Kavanaugh's classmates at Yale University said he made inappropriate sexual contact with a female student. However, the article failed to mention that the female student who was the alleged victim has no recollection of the supposed event and declined to be interviewed.
Pogrebin appeared on WMAL's "Mornings on the Mall" to discuss the omitted details Tuesday morning, and she acknowledged that she and Kavanaugh were both in Yale University's class of 1987.
"I was in Brett's class at Yale," she admitted. "It didn't influence it. We weren't friends. I knew him to kind of say hello."

The latest media hit stinks of desperation, panic.
Why? Was a major USSC decision about to drop last weekend? No.
What big anti-DNC story was this hit piece aimed at smothering? I am a firm believer that the blue tick media gatekeepers cue up diversionary stories like torpedo tubes on an attack sub. They are well drilled and prepared, you have to give them that, since the days of the chad loss by Gore...
I think they thought, from reading POTUS tweets or something, that the IG report was landing last weekend.
“Look, squirrel!!” is their default tactic.
Points, the democRats are down right now.
Smile...
I blame the lying media for her coming as close as she did.
and yet, Bill Cosby rots in jail because of just such a smear attack.
Convicted of an alleged crime that the court system does not have a day or even the month when the crime was supposed to have occured!
I was a junior when my brother was a freshman. He was in a dorm and I was in an off-campus apartment. We didn't see each other that often, but we talked several times a week.
So, what's your point, that you had a lousy older brother?

Respectfully, your point is well taken, but sound journalistic practice would have been to disclose that fact, and allow the reader to be thoroughly informed. Likely, as you say, they barely spoke, but now it looks like a hidden agenda. This newspaper seems to play “sneaky pete”, even when they don’t need to, and further undercut their credibility. Thank you.
I doubt it. They seem like very different types. Jock and non-jock. Oil and water.
Her mother, Lettie Pogrebin, was a big time feminist in the 70s.
If journalistic practice at all a concern, we wouldnt be having this discussion, because the story would simply be a non-partisan recitation of undisputed facts.
Instead we have professional journalists throwing their careers away in a flailing attempt to take down Trump (their singular goal) by the proxy of Kavanaugh. All of this is a crisis only because RBG is about to expire, and their lock on the court goes with her. Imagine the legacy youd have as a reporter if you could claim you took out Kavanaugh, or Trump.
Its also worth noting that TDS is a circular phenomenon: the more they hate Trump, the more the Derangement eats at them. Its not healthy human behavior to be consumed by hatred. So they hate themselves for hating Trump. Yet they are powerless to stop, because virtue signaling is an opiate to the hard left. Leftism requires constant external reinforcement; individual thinking is shunned... this is mental illness.
Its unbelievable what this man has accomplished. Quite literally unbelievable the destruction hes goaded the left into doing to themselves. And if that werent enough, hes peeling off voters (who I expect will stay home rather than vote for an unhinged lib). Leftist voters are misinformed, but not all of them are crazy enough to vote for one of the current kook dems...
I would submit that we are witnessing the schism that defines what happens to this country: either enough people wake up and see the horrors in the divide, and we are saved, or we plunge into darkness when Trump exits the stage.
Very well stated, thank you.
I was puzzled as well about why, out of the freakin blue, this self-defeating stab was made at Kavanugh, injuring no one but themselves. Until today the story broke about Leland Keyser, and it's now quite obvious they knew this disastrous story was coming and were seeking to blunt the sharp edge even if ever so slightly..
These entities thrust the lifeless body of the NYT under the wheels of the juggernaut they can't escape, in their panic.
Winning. Ain't tired of it just yet.
This isn’t news. It was known last year. BTW, her mother is a founding editor of Ms. magazine
Bill Cosby is in jail because of an accumulation of something like 30 credible accusations against him of drugging women in order to rape them that were never believed and acted upon properly over the past many years. Finally a DA jammed a case down everyone’s throat just to take him out of range of druggable, rapable women. If it didn’t happen when it did, the #MeToo movement would have finally gotten him, because women are now coming forward within the time limit for reporting, and police and prosecutors have been shamed into facilitating due process for sexual crimes instead of blaming the victims.

Complaints have to be filed before they can be acted on

Crammed? Yes, good choice of words. Framed is better. But Cosby was a threat to nobody. Not at his age and health.
If it didnt happen when it did, the #MeToo movement would have finally gotten him,
Murderous are they .
because women are now coming forward within the time limit for reporting
and plenty thst were not... can tou say 'Brian Banks'? We know you can.
I did not say complaints. I said accusations. And they were credible. And if you think a weathy old man is no longer capable of drugging and molesting a woman, you are mistaken.
The point was that using the fact both were in the same dorm, could not be used for some form of verification he knew anything at all factual about the subject.
Sure. Reveal that fact. Then also reveal that during their school year this reporter had no contact with him or any of his primary friends.
Instead we get the dorm info dropped, and the implication he should really know what he was talking about.
I think our reasoning has decent logic behind it.
Your wind down comments on what lies in this nation’s direct future, couldn’t more true.
Trump has in fact revealed the treacherous fools for who they are.
Yes, people will wake up, or this nation is doomed, Trump or not.
And if his son Jr. doesn’t follow him on, I think the nation is in serious danger of being swept away from within.
His son is the only person I know who has the same fire in the belly, and enough business leadership acumen to keep us on track.
I like Pence, but I don’t see the fire in the belly. Not sure he has the leadership skills required, which now demand you be able to face down most leaders in Washington and the MSM.
Ivanka is too liberal for me.
I don’t see another political figure out there who knows what to and what not to do either.
Some of our supposed shining stars are flame outs. They are as reckless as can be with their attempts at acting the part of a solid Conservative.
I knew practically nobody in my dorm. I'd have made an exception for my brother, though.
