President Trump said Monday that he wants to avoid war with Iran, a day after warning that the United States was "locked and loaded" in response to attacks on Saudi oil facilities.
Do I want war? I dont want war with anybody, Trump told reporters in the Oval Office Monday afternoon during a meeting with the crown prince of Bahrain, later adding: We have the strongest military in the world.
Trump cited U.S. fighter jets, missiles and other systems as the best of their kind.
With all that being said, wed certainly like to avoid it, he said of a potential military conflict.
Top Trump administration officials have blamed Tehran for the attack on the two oil sites in Saudi Arabia, though Trump has insisted he's still waiting on final confirmation of Iran's culpability.

I wonder how many police actions (aka proxy wars for fun and profit) we will engage in once the dhimmicrats finally get their way
Russia has things covered.
The whole point of having the “strongest military in the world” is so that you don’t have to use it.
If you want peace, prepare for war............. Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus
Keep them guessing.
As an electrical engineer, my response would be to take out their electrical grid. All of it. Then they will have more than one problem on their hands.
This is a good of reason as any to destroy the Iranian AF, navy and nuclear weapons. It’s going to have to be done, might as well do it now.
That is a good idea, and much more preferable to bombing miles of citizen dwellings. To Bomb or not to Bomb? That is the question! Such actions can never fully be undone, no matter how much of that fresh Guilt-Cash is thrown at it.
Peace Through Strength.
I’d like for him to skip the Iran conflict period.
Then when he leaves we can say we finally had peace for 8 years....
Can the US avoid a strike if it is shown with certainty that Iran is the culprit?
We KNOW the US detected the launch and course of those missiles. Anyone who believes otherwise is not current on the tech.
I think Trump is holding his cards close, checking, to see who else is in.
But to suggest we don’t know who did it is farcical. We know with certainty.
Civilian disaster. Imagine if that was done to us — the disruption in food and transportation and medical care. We have to find ways to punish regimes which do not call for citizens to bear the cost. Out of basic moral tenets as well as looking ahead — if we help install a regime more to our liking, we want the citizens of Iran to welcome the change.
Myself, I’m all for targeted assassination. A well-placed bullet in Berlin or Berchtesgaden in, say, 1938 could have saved eighty million lives, at zero civilian cost.
Enough talk ...the B2’s should be in the air tonight.
Target Iranian leadership, top leadership.
And what happens when someone takes out our electrical grid? How long would our pampered population with no survival skills be able to tough it out?
Some say around 52-53 million but still.....
Hitler left his speech a little early at the hall that night.
Missed him by about, what, 15 minutes?
Send a couple carriers into the Persian Gulf and start doing the Tomahawk chop to make the Iranians sweat.
Nuke Iran from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.
Unfortunately, Trump does not know when to shut up. Apparently he has never heard (or never understood) the dictum, ‘speak softly but carry a big stick.’
“Then when he leaves we can say we finally had peace for 8 years....”
Because you get your information from the television?
We have troops in Syria ...in combat.
We have troops in Iraq ...in combat.
We have troops in Afghanistan ...in combat.
We have troops in other places in the ME ...in combat.
Just because we’ve attrited the enemy in these areas doesn’t mean peace.
