Donald Trump Supporters Wave ‘Come and Take it’ Flags at Beto O’Rourke Rally in Texas

A handful of Texas supporters of President Donald Trump and the Second Amendment welcomed Beto O’Rourke at a rally in Texas with ‘Come and Take it’ flags.

Video footage of the event from Fox 4 showed one Trump supporter with a rifle slung over his back holding a, “Hell no you will not take my AR-15” sign. Other supporters held a Trump sign, a Texas flag with an AR-15 on it and a classic Texas white “Come and Take it” flag.

“We are going to buy back every single one of those weapons,” O’Rourke said at the rally as supporters cheered, “Get them off the streets.”

After the rally, O’Rourke defended his new stance on guns saying that if Democrats were defensive, they would end up with nothing on gun control.

“I think that we have to make sure we are bold, have the courage of our convictions and reflect the urgency of this issue,” he said and added, “There’s really no legitimate need for an AK-47 or an AR-15.”

“with a rifle slung over his shoulder”.

Armed = not assaulted.
Funny how that works.

You’re right; he does.

“There’s really no legitimate need for an AK-47 or an AR-15.”

Maybe so (though I’d say that a legitimate need would be if my home was attacked by multiple assailants, or if we were invaded by Russians, Chinese or aliens (UFO type), or if our own government because a murderous tyranny). But even if Irish Bob is correct, the 2nd Amendment is not part of anything entitled, “The Bill of Needs.” In fact, I never heard of any “Bill of Needs” (even though my wife and kids regularly hand me lists of things that they “need,” and the result is a big bill).

So, Irish Bob, you can go and stick your ideas of what I may or may not own on a large, sharp stick, and then shove it as far up that place on your body where the sun don’t shine as it’ll go. Yes, seriously.

You see, I’ve had numerous relatives murdered by regimes that thought that they could tell everyone else how (or even IF) to live, and those relatives had no ability to say, “NO!” because they were unarmed. So, I am in no mood to kid around about this subject, nor to give up my right and ability to defend myself and my family. While I may still lose in the end if you send a bunch of armor-clad goons after me, I do promise you that it will NOT be free, like if was free for the Russian Communists and the Nazis. Nope, it won’t be even close to free.

To win the Presidency, one needs only sway about 3% of voters.
95% of voters are going to vote a particular way regardless of who’s running.
Beto just alienated >1% of Democrats who, quietly, are pro-gun and aren’t going to support giving up their own “assault weapons”. That’s a big loss to ensure in the main race even before getting the Democrat nomination.

(Statistics used are scientific wild-a$$ guesses. Show me wrong.)

Politicians like Beto are the perfect example of a "legitimate need".

“Attention President Trump:
Your supporters oppose “gun control”. Your supporters oppose “red flag” laws, oppose “universal background checks”, and oppose banning of any sort of firearm or firearm accessory.

Your supporters favor a strict interpretation of the Second Amendment: the government is forbidden to interfere with our right to keep and bear arms.

You will gain NOTHING by betraying your supporters.”

Amen. President Trump, you not only have nothing to gain by betraying your supporters, but you have a LOT to lose - like having a larger percentage of those people become your FORMER supporters and thereby losing - LOSING - to some light-weight, intellectually-challenged, Democrat next November. Hell of a legacy that would be for you, wouldn’t it?

Could also explain why muzzie street rapes/assaults like in Sweden, Germany, and UK, don’t seem to happen here.

There’s really no legitimate need for the demoncrat party or its members and supporters... Confiscate them all...

Create a "yellow flag" law that applies strictly to the threats of marxism and perversion...

Some years ago I found myself facing six Gang Bangers who were telling me in detail how they intended to kill me and mutilate my corpse before completing the robbery of my house and workshop.
Until I was able to retrieve a rifle that was just inside my door.
They went from “$#!* down your neck esay” to “Onlay, Onlay, he got a GUN!” as they sprinted back to their car and burned rubber leaving.
That rifle was only a .22 bolt action.
I bought my first AR-15 and a rapid-fire trigger the next weekend.
I knew there was strong chance they would return and I had better be better armed.

So yea, been there, done that, I KNOW that in fact there ARE “Legitimate” needs to own an AR-15.
Not that a reason or need is required, it’s the Bill of RIGHTS, not needs.

he said and added, “There’s really no legitimate need for an AK-47 or an AR-15.”

According to the 2nd Amendment the government has no legitimate authority to decide that. :)

This is what needs to happen, where legal, folks with actual intestinal fortitude need to show up at these rallies in mass with rifles slung over their shoulders. “Now you pissed us off and we are going to carry even more”.
