Flint, Mich.
A Southwestern High School teacher says her car was stolen from the school parking lot by a student and is accusing the school district and police of not doing anything.
Special Education teacher Mary Toth spoke exclusively to Fox 66/NBC 25 News.
Toth says on August 13th the student was supposed to be helping her clean her classroom. She says she left her purse in the classroom when she stepped out. She says when she returned, she later discovered that money and keys were stolen from her purse.
She says the student then stole her 2015 Chevy Malibu from the back parking lot. She says minutes after her car was stolen, she looked at surveillance video with four other administrators and they all identified the student. But nearly one month later, her car has yet to be returned and she says charges have not been filed. She says days after this happened the student was also back in school.

The police haven’t filed charges.
Cops can be useless if they’re controlled by leftist politicians.
Vote in a pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriff who is accountable to the voters. This sheriff has the legal, investigative and armed muscle to crush leftists, including dirty cops and politicians. During my sheriff’s tenure, he’s run two police chiefs out of the county.
Michigan did away with tenure years ago.
Did not mean to be wordy. Thanks for letting me vent
Stay Free.
They took her opportunity for tenure when she had 9 years in.
Missouri teachers are not allowed to strike by law, but teachers in StL and KC sometimes do anyway.
My teaching certificate is for ‘Life’ so I didn’t have to take the Mickey Mouse classes to retain it. For several years MO had certificates that had to be renewed but I think they’ve dropped that idea. To be honest, most of the ‘great new ideas’ in education have proven to be disastrous for both the students and the teachers.
Since I taught an ‘unimportant subject’history, my students didn’t have to take tests on it, so I was immune to pressure on that score.
Happily, my state legislature, despite making noises, has thus far kept its mitts off MO teachers’ pensions.
It appears to me as a semi-insider that both the State and local district are actively trying to get rid of teacher’s unions(or at least blame them for State or District shortcomings due to neglegence, ineptitude, or apathy.
Don’t sell being a history teacher shory. Remember: Those who don’t pay attention to history are doomed to retake the course next year. ;^)
short.
Those who do not use spell check will be forced to correct their post spelling errors in the next post.
Dont sell being a history teacher short

One year before I landed a real job, I subbed in the local districts. One time I subbed for the high school history teacher. There was one poor soul who had to pass history classes to graduate. Because he consistently failed historyhe hated, hated, hated it, he found himself taking 3 history classes in his senior year. Don’t know if he graduated.
I was just putting up a smart-alekey statement that my Highscool history teacher said once.
Local high school teacher says her car was stolen by student (Michigan)
That car wasn’t stolen. It was just the hood rent-a-car program in that area.
Being a history teacher was very liberating. Virtually every teacher in the school (with the exception of music, art, and gym) had to sweat the yearly tests. But I didn’t. Because it took so long to score and return the results, the kids were off to high school before we knew how they did. They suffered no ill consequences for low scores, only their teachersbut not me.
Because of ‘No Child Left Behind’, every three years the number of kids who had to score ‘proficient’ or better kept increasing to ridiculous levelsbefore it was abandoned it was going to be 100%!
Of course anyone who knew anything about anything knew that through the tyranny of the Bell Shaped Curve, 50% were going to be ‘below average’. Only way to alter that was to keep dumbing down the tests until they measured nothing, or cheat.
Michigan ties funding to year over year improvements on the ACT. All seniors must take it. (or the MEAP for younger students. If there is no improvement, you get less funding.
(I have never understood this.) My wife works in one of the better districts in the state, so it is incredibly hard to show improvement every year.
She is only a couple of years from retirement and the kids are almost through high school, so hopefully it wont be an immediate problem for us for too much longer.
It was, after all, a nonviolent crime, so what’s she belly achin’ about?
She needs to just shut up & surrender her car along with her white privilege.
This is sarcasm, for those who need to be told.
Or, evidently, the right to steal cars.
Has she pressed charges?
The story said she’s upset neither the school or police have taken action...
You have to pass a history regents exam in nys to graduate. It covers several yrs of high school work. It is the hardest regents exam.
You have to pass a history regents exam in nys to graduate.
It’s under discussion because too many minorities esp in NYC can not pass them think exams math science history english.
If you are special ed you can get a local diploma but it’s worthless. I took regents exams in 1969 around long time. Some states apprec history. Too bad yours doesnt.
About 95 percent of kids at my kids high school got advanced regents diplomas. You take additional exams in math science foreign language.
She files the charges.
