Flint, Mich.
A Southwestern High School teacher says her car was stolen from the school parking lot by a student and is accusing the school district and police of not doing anything.
Special Education teacher Mary Toth spoke exclusively to Fox 66/NBC 25 News.
Toth says on August 13th the student was supposed to be helping her clean her classroom. She says she left her purse in the classroom when she stepped out. She says when she returned, she later discovered that money and keys were stolen from her purse.
She says the student then stole her 2015 Chevy Malibu from the back parking lot. She says minutes after her car was stolen, she looked at surveillance video with four other administrators and they all identified the student. But nearly one month later, her car has yet to be returned and she says charges have not been filed. She says days after this happened the student was also back in school.

...she is not pressing the issue...
**********************
She did and is pressing the issue with the worthless Flint government/police as well as with the local media. The police and government are going full bore to protect the low-IQ yute (but not so low of an IQ that he cant steal).
Flint appears on its way to becoming a mini-Baltimore.
Maybe the water problems lead to this.
The school is 80% minority.
She will be considered a snitch now.
> The whole story is kind of hinky. I wonder if the teacher was getting it on with the student? <
I taught in inner city high schools for decades. And something like this happened every six months or so. But it was almost always a hot-wiring car theft, or something like that.
But one thing was certain. Administrators would ALWAYS try to cover it up. On-campus crimes lower the schools overall rating. And administrators get bonuses based on those ratings. Gotta keep those ratings up!
Oh, and it was funny how often the surveillence cameras were broken when a crime of any type occurred. I once got into a hell of physical fight with a student who was pushing a little girl around. With the help of another teacher who was built like a linebacker, I won that fight.
The school decided not to file charges against the student. There wasnt enough evidence. All the surveillance cameras in the area were broken.
She should call her car phone. Maybe the thief is still driving it. (Are there still car phones?)
*****
George: Maybe you should call your car phone.
Jerry: Yeah, he’s probably driving it right now.
George: Wait a minute, call the car phone, see what happens.
Jerry: Are you serious?
George: Yeah, go ahead, call.
Jerry: I don’t even know if I remember the number.
Jerry dials.
Jerry: What do I say if he picks up?
Car thief: Hello?
Jerry: Hello? Is this 555-8383?
Car thief: I have no idea.
Jerry: Can I ask you a question?
Car thief: Sure.
Jerry: Did you steal my car?
Car thief: Yes I did.
Maybe close to pension age.
He is out buying condoms for a month?
Sure blame the victim.
” 80% minority.”
Couldn’t tell from the video, which made me suspicious.
Restorative justice.
Sounds a lot like an urban student, fan of beat-boxing, etc.
Median home value in Flint is 19k.
I’m surprised that it is that high. Pretty much Detroit level.
“The school is 80% minority”
That’s one of those interesting statements that is incorrect and correct at the same time.
Why is the school district ignoring and not supporting their employee?
Secondly the teacher is a special education teacher and the story implies that the student who did the stealing is a special ed student. Special Ed students have all kinds of legal protections that everyone else in the school lacks. They can be suspended and expelled but only after going through very lengthy procedures. And depending on why the student is ‘special’ ie. his or her diagnosis, the school may not be allowed to punish him for theft.
If race gets thrown into the mix, the teacher may be ‘lucky’ to keep her job for reporting the theft. If she doesn’t have tenure, she can be fired for any reason, and embarrassing the district is one of them.
That might all be true. But it has nothing to do with the police not following up on a reported crime, esp if they have security tapes. And now a 2nd crime was committed
What’s next?
Wait til he kills someone with the car?
His IEP include driving lessons?
She needs to file a complaint with the police. Is she an idiot? And left her purse unattended? She is an idiot.
