Most of the cars that poster mentions are over 9 years old. The LTD wasnt made after 1991, 28 years ago. The entire Mercury brand was taken out back and shot in 2010 so thats the newest the Mariner could potentially be and I suspect the one they are referencing is considerably older. The Mustang? Who knows.
That said, Ford has stopped making/selling cars (as opposed to SUVs, CUVs, crossovers, trucks, etc) as of this year except for the Mustang and something called an EcoSport.
Replacement CB750 wiring harnesses are available on the market right now. You can get one from Honda or the aftermarket. https://www.vintagecb750.com/products/5/electrical/55/wiring-harness
Takes maybe an hour or two to install, tops.
Because the CX-5 has historically had engine and transmission problems?
Also, the CX-5 is classed as an SUV/CUV.
Thanks for the link.
Mostly it’s been time, energy, some health sruff and a lot of household craziness why the CB and Blazer have sat. I’m kind of ashamed they have. I admit I love the jeeps more and they have gotten priority
The 750 sits in the garage but it gets compliments from passers-by. Ditto the apart Willys.
The others are in a building close by. That’s the burbs I live in. I am a country guy who married a burbs woman.

Other companies make better cars. I think somehow we will survive even if GM goes under.
Odd they are striking which is basically a strike against themselves since obongo pretty much took GM from the share holders and gave it to the union.
As of 2008 I swore to never buy another GM product after buying nothing else before then. I”m staying true to my word.
We live in a flaky world.
I had a CJ-7 V-8. Piece of junk (rusted) body but that thing went through snow and crawled on even icy streets like nobody’s business (with Wal-Mart tires).
I wanted to buy a replacement body and do a frame-off but it never happened.
Oh well. I wasnt buying a new truck this week.
There ya go. Try not to fly in it, though (huge jumps that is).
So, do you recommend Ford? What are you driving now?
“Because the CX-5 has historically had engine and transmission problems?”
Could not prove that by me.
We’ve had a CX-5 and now a CX-3 with no issues at all. The CX-3 accelerates like a low-end sports car. Excellent fuel economy too.
AMC quality left a lot to be desired.
The CJ7 is mostly done except for the tub. I’d love to powder coat it but there are a few places with bondo and a little damage. The blue should be easy enough to match.
Dad has a line on a 304. I’ll have to get a painless harness.
Maybe next week, I will talk to the old garage guy about sending it to him for reassembly. With things going on in life plus with what I am not equipped to do or forgot, might as well pay someone. I like doing my own work as much as possible.
You may be correct. (I didn’t have all the facts in front of me when I wrote that)
Had a nice 49 chevy truck....daily driver near custom.
Why don’t the Unions tale all their Dues Money and buy a controlling stake of GM Stock?
Then they can put one of their guys in there and run it into the ground.
The 2.0 turbo motors have had issues, and the CX-5s in the past had the same fail transmissions as the Escape. You can go look them up.
I don’t specifically recommend Ford - or any other maker - at the current time. I do think their product line is worth considering (unlike GM - or VW/Audi). Be advised that due to the increasing complexity and regulation of automobiles, literally no maker has a “perfect” lineup and all makes can have serious issues. Now more than ever you should do your research before selecting a car; fortunately it’s considerably easier with the internet to help.
As for what I’m driving now, I have a Toyota 4Runner as my four wheeled daily and a Honda 919 for my two wheeled daily. I have a classic 80s Nighthawk S and Jaguar XJ6 as projects.
Then they would have to take some responsibility for it.
This way they can continue to rant against the “bosses” and keep that union Bolshevik furor stoked!
