United States has been pretty fickle and transient with its visa norms, especially when concerned with India. Right since Trump has headed the administration, the entry into States has become very rigid and difficult. Not only has he upped the bars of admission into US but also have made innumerable changes to the existing visa facilities and norms, which are impacting the Indian individuals and companies operating there.
There is the entry of another one. Reports flood in from a federal US agency, proposing $10 fee for the registration of new H1-B visas. This action is a part of the new registration process for companies wishing to apply for the temporary employment visa. [...]

The fee should be three hundred dollars, renewed quarterly.
I’d rather see H1b charged 1M/person.
Most H1b bring their entire extended family and many are NOT poor.
What winning? At least in this case. A $10 fee is nothing.
Suspend the H1x program until all U.S. STEM workers displaced by foreign workers are fully employed.
That would be winning.
10 bucks?
Every immigration lawyer here knows that H1B visas lead to green cards. It’s a pathway. It was around $700 when i renewed mine years ago and should be in the clear $500 plus range for H1B. If these anti-US companies keep insisting we need these clowns, then pony up the cash.
$300/quarter sounds fair. And make the employer pay the same for each employee.
That would be winning.
Amen!
Youre reading my mind lol !!!
Thats like 710 Rupees
You wrote: “The fee should be three hundred dollars, renewed quarterly.”
I cannot begin to tell you all that is wrong with this. I object profoundly this whole idea. You could not be more wrong! Shame on you, what are you thinking?
The fee should be $3,000 paid quarterly.
Now go stand in the corner for thinking so small!
Was the person who wrote this and then said “MORE WINNING!” being sarcastic or serious?
We ARE winning in MANY ways.
A 10 dollar surcharge (the cost of an average meal at a fast food joint) isn’t at the top of the winning list.
I liked the person who said 300 dollars a quarter.
That won’t stop them but it will be REAL revenue, at least.
$1, 929, 180 is a drop in the ocean of our federal deficit.
I have a lot of respect for Indians but DO NOT want them taking jobs from Americans. There can be no doubt that there are Americans qualified to fill the positions held by these Indians...the problem is that the Indians will do it for $20K/yr while Americans would expect four times that.
IMO H1B visas should be eliminated!
$10 was a lot of money. In 1819.
Ditto!
I agree. H1B Visas are not necessary. Get the best students involved in job training in HS, before they get overwhelmed by vile cultural temptations. They’re more trainable at that age, and full time college could be avoided completely.
The fee should be 1 million dollars a year for each H1-B ... since these are people that fill jobs that CANNOT be filled by qualified domestic applicants. There should be a 10 million dollar fine if any us worker is replaced by a H1-B and 5 years in jail.
