HOUSTON Democratic debate night No. 3: Attacks and counter-attacks. Love for one former president, loathing for the current one. A 76-year-old front-runner essentially got called old, and he turned around and called another rival a "socialist."
But will it change the fundamentals of a nominating fight that remains remarkably stable at the top with five months until voting begins? Here's a look at some takeaways and potential answers:
The third Democratic debate seemed to end in a 10-way tie.
Former Vice President Joe Biden was sure-footed (until the end), at least for him and compared with the previous two debates. There were more attacks on President Donald Trump than on each other. No one dominated.
Biden took on the most fire, but parried it and, as front-runner, benefits the most from a no-decision. Sen. Bernie Sanders faced sharp criticism about his universal health care plan from several candidates, but his base has demonstrated its loyalty. Sen. Elizabeth Warren was more in the background than in prior debates but didn't damage herself, and she closed with a compelling personal story. Sens. Kamala Harris and Cory Booker were both crisp but got lost on the crowded stage at times.
Mayor Pete Buttigieg, former Rep. Beto O'Rourke and Sen. Amy Klobuchar helped form a sensibility caucus, offering pragmatism and civic-mindedness.
Andrew Yang, a tech entrepreneur, spoke eloquently about immigration and assured himself a mention with his proposal to give 10 families $1,000 a month, from his campaign. The normally mild-mannered Julián Castro, a former Housing secretary, decided that attacking Biden, often in personal terms, was one way to get noticed.

This article is from the AP but it is posted in the liberal, leftist, loony WRAL TV’s website.

Reading over on DU, many are now “settling” for Biden and see the others have no chance to beat Trump.
It is amusing as only 2 weeks ago, there were droves of Never-Biden posters all over the place.
Good luck on that, DU dummies....
Warren has the inside track to the nomination. The only thing keeping Biden in the lead is that the leftist vote is split up among Warren, Bernie, and the others. Once the lesser candidates start to drop out, Warren’s numbers will go up. If Bernie drops out, most of his supporters will go to Warren.
Will Trump tweet about Bidens teeth ?
LOL
Good analysis.
It highlights how profoundly broken the system is when Joe The Train Wreck remains their front runner. People are willing to “settle” for this guy because the others are worse.

The problem is that these people would elect Charles Manson if they thought he could beat Trump.
They do not care about any other factor at all other than that one.
“liberal, leftist, loony WRAL TVs website.”
I don’t know many people, but I know a former TV news presenter (a pretty lady of course). I asked her if television reporters tended to be liberals. She looked at me like I was crazy and pridefully said of course they are.
analysis
1) He was right on Biden, he was all over the place incoherent. Kinda sad to watch as he clearly isnt in full charge of his faculties. As much as hes the safe bet for the majority of the party, hes failing.
2) Beto, unconstitutionally confiscating guns is a non-starter - DOWN BIG TIME
3) Bernie - he comes across as a kook, because he is. DOWN
4) Warren - I agree that she may be the final candidate because she can talk, chew gum, and flail her arms at the same time. But her politics are radical and wont sell in a general outside of very liberal Dem Massachusetts.UP
5) Booker - no real plank except Im Black and the country is racist. down
6) Castro, mean to grampa Joe - Down and OUT
7) Asian guy, sideways and soon out.
8) Klobachaur - sideways, not enough support or gravitas to get the nod
9) Kamala - very annoying and zero gravitas - flat on her back
10) Trump - the winner, these folks are plain kooky
11) Dem party - Down, seriously these potential nominees are not anything to cheer about.
12) OVERALL IMPRESSION - The debate consisted of platitudes and lacked any substantive proposals backed up with reality and numbers.
My argument is that Bide3n is the only true, mostly old line democrat in the race. Real democrats not infected with the rabid socialism bug reognize that fact. These people would vote for a yellow dog before they would vote for a republican
Yep.
If it weren’t for their good weather reporters, I would never watch WRAL. They are an NBC affiliate - enough said. But their competition is not much better - WTVD is an ABC affiliate. Sick, I know.
Even the local Spectrum news station is liberal. They are supposed to be neutral. Ha!
The polls continue to report that any of those on the stage at TSU last night will beat President Trump. There is also a report that pigs can fly. Both have equal validity so pay your money and take your pick.
I thought Biden had hair implants.
Looks like they fell out, too.......................
“The polls continue to report that any of those on the stage at TSU last night will beat President Trump. “
Yeah, the same pollsters that said Donald J. Trump was going to lose in 2016.
Good analysis. I agree that Warren gets crushed in the general election (which I am hoping for). But I think she has the inside track because the leftist base of the party will rally to her. Particularly as more progressive candidates drop out and Biden makes even more gaffes.
It is going to become even clearer over the next 6 months that Biden just does not have the faculties for the job. That is going to drive more folks to Warren.
Didn’t watch, don’t know, don’t care....
I was out sharpening sticks to poke in my own eyes. And maybe puncture my eardrums.
