I was listening to Rush about an hour ago. According to him, if there is an actual impeachment inquiry, the Dems can be granted access to Trump’s tax records. But Rush thought there would have to be an impeachment vote before the whole thing could be considered an inquiry. This may be an attempt to get the tax returns by other methods than those which have already failed.
They are not getting his returns, they would have to show a substantive reason for it, not we want to see if the russians are in it.
What I'm talking about is the efforts of the Dems to pursue this, beclowning themselves on the way. As they get more and more frantic and ridiculous, the difficulty of climbing out of the hole they are digging for themselves attains lower and lower probability.
Don't get me wrong; though I don't own a TV, the impact on the 24/7 anti-Trump news cycle still infects my thinking from time to time, especially if DJT has a few goofy tweets in a row. But overall, with or against my instincts, general pessimism, and tendency to overthink things, the money is going to be made betting alongside Trump, and that is a higher stock market, if that is an area that interests you. To date... *all scares* as to recession and scandal and staff-firing chaos have led to higher stock prices after an initial shakeout *after mere days*, talking DAYS in a supposedly weakened state.
Sometimes it's just smarter not to overthink stuff. Bonds have been obliterated over the past few days, driving rates up (bad for refis and seemingly making it harder to finance US debt, these are things that we mere mortals can not get our hands around. IMHO) Like it or not, THE ENTIRE WORLD has NOWHERE ELSE to invest other than US markets. They are going higher. Maybe not astronomically higher, but dippy will be coming in on any dip. It's worked for TEN YEARS: if you've been short, you've been right 2-3-4 times and wrong 37 times. The case can be made, I believe, that a Trump re-election would produce a solid +15% market, perhaps for two years. The S&P would be reaching for 4,000, from 3,000 where it is now.
The problem is, there are enough hard-Left judges that would consider anything a substantive reason, aren’t there? Judge shopping is very popular with Leftists. I know it would be appealed, but they may be able to get a judge to order it at some point.
I bet that it’s Soros and/or other lefty wealthy campaign donors pushing it.

In my mind the threat of impeachment is offered to prevent the holocaust of coming indictments.
Trump has the left by their gonads. He has enough documentation now to imprison much of the Obama administration and a willing AG in Barr to methodically torture the traitors while all the particulars of the evidence is checked and double checked by loyal prosecutors. being an astute businessman he has played the important Countries around the world like a piano. While in 3 years he dramatically improved our economy, he also managed to partly destroy our competitors. As pointed out on this thread, Trump has positioned the United States as the only market in the world that is worthy of any monetary investment. Name another Country that you would trust with your retirement savings.
During the next 6 months indictments will be forthcoming that will absolutely gut the democrats and expose the left for their lies and deceit. The poor bastards that have believed them and that pinned their hopes on their spin will revolt for good.

There may be an attempted impeachment. Nancy knows it’s suicide, and maybe so does Nadler. But you’ll have The Squad flapping their arms up and down and going “bock bock bock bock” in imitation of chickens, and so the House, with no grownups present of sufficient force of character to say “no” to the idiot faction, will have impeachment hearings pretending to look into some damned thing or other, and a vote, which will fail, because not even all Democrats will go along with it.
There will be a landslide victory for Trump and the Deplorables, rioting snowflakes, exploding heads, and Republican majorities in both houses, and a cowed never-Trump faction. As for the Democrats, indict them, get them to rat on each other, convict the few who do not based on the testimony of those who did, and then hang those convicted, and after serving their reduced sentences, drum the rats out of public life forever.
