Oh, that’s just silly. Stay in your lane, Mitt.
Oh well then! If Mitt wants him reinstated, I sure as shootin’ hope President Trump throws himself at Bolton’s feet, begging forgiveness and asking him to please come back.
Honestly, Mitt must have a HUGE opinion of himself to think that anyone cares what he thinks, let alone follow his instructions!
The US has been at war continuously for more years than the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World War 1, World War 2 and the Korean War combined, and that's not long enough?
Maybe not long enough for The Swamp but I think it's been long enough for Middle America.
I’m very very unhappy that John McCain has ever gotten a Republican nomination.
I really, really hate Mitt’s guts, but in this case, I’ll have to agree with him.
"Where DID that congressional page run off too?"
Is this a joke? Romney is out of his mind with dreams of self importance.
Bolton was probably leaking to Romney.
It eats him alive that he threw the election to Obama.
Then win the Presidency Mitt Romney, if you can. So far you keep showing you are a loser when it comes to that office. In fact you have been a loser in every office you have held.
Romney - An irrelevant pompous POS whose opinion matters only to himself.
Donald Trump is a patriot; John Bolton is a patriot.
Patriots who are reasonable men can differ especially about complex problems involving myriad nations around the world, some possessed of the bomb, some of dubious rationality, many of whom represent grave security risks to the United States.
When I was young, the left were doves and the right were Hawks. Today, although the lines of crossed and in between the lines is a large no man's land, it seemed the tables have turned and the right now tends to be more isolationist and the now left tends to be more interventionist.
Trump has had a very poor record in his personnel dealing with foreign affairs. His first Security Adviser, Flynn, was a disaster. He fired his first Secretary of State over policy differences. His Secretary of Defense quit on him over policy differences. Now Bolton. Virtually all of these men left his service in disagreement over policy.
There is a complete flip-flop on left and right versions of the proper relationship between Israel and the US. The left, exemplified by Barack Obama and The Squad now seldom bother to hide their anti-Semitism. The right, especially the evangelical right, fervently support Israel. Whether one supports or opposes Israel has profound implications for whether one is a hawk or a dove.
The big risk in the removal of John Bolton is his replacement, whether if not in actual body but in virtual fact, will be JoVanka. It is not clear whether JoVanka will be hawkish or dovish, especially as it relates to Israel.
In my judgment, it is as foolish to be an isolationist as it was in 1939. It is also my view that it is foolish to be a reflexive interventionist as it was in Vietnam or Iraq. It is utter folly to conduct foreign policy by enslaving it to ideology. It is wrongheaded to support John Bolton so long as he is in the good graces of Donald Trump and to oppose him because he has professional differences over the proper conduct of foreign policy.
By all accounts Bolton resigned after an argument but Trump attempted fake news to make it appear he was fired. If that is so, it represents a serious weakness of character. It also appears that the men had honest disagreements over policy and Bolton took the honorable course. It is not clear the Trump has behaved as honorably. The whole history of this affair, of course, is not yet available so we must await the judgment of history about this give-and-take. Likely, Bolton feels aggrieved enough to go public with his disagreements with the president. I'm not sure that is proper even if he was done wrong in this exchange.
It also is entirely possible that Bolton was fired because it became known in the press that Bolton advised Trump against the Camp David fiasco, that is, it was wrong to entertain the Taliban in Camp David three days before 9/11. Events clearly have justified Bolton's position. Is that why Trump fired him? If Bolton leaked his opposition to the press, Trump acted properly in firing him.
We must await more information.
good for Romney is bad for trump
Awwwwww, Mittens is unhappy. Poor baby.
Well, when he is President he can bring John back.
Thinking about it, there was real danger of a coup with Bolton in charge of State along with Romney polluting the Senate.
Mitt Romney Very Unhappy with John Boltons Firing, Wants Him Reinstated
Willard continues to demonstrate what an asshole he is...every day.
That confirms Bolton had to go.
Go do something constructive entitled, Mitt. Get out of politics.
Once again the Massachusetts liberal shows us his brain.. He would be far better off if he kept it in his head instead of his butt.!!
