Just as they did with President Trump’s comments referring to MS-13 gang members as “animals” in May of 2018, ABC and NBC spent Monday night misrepresenting the President’s comments to suggest he called the Bahamian people fleeing the destruction of Hurricane Dorian “very bad people.”
The comments in question came during a press gaggle Trump gave outside the White House. There he said: “I don't want to allow people that weren't supposed to be in the Bahamas to come into the United States, including some very bad people and some very bad gang members and some very, very bad drug dealers.”
While leading into a segment about the relief effort for the Bahamas for ABC’s World News Tonight, anchor David Muir told viewers the forthcoming report would cover “What President Trump has said about people in the Bahamas who want to get to the U.S. … People who have lost everything desperate to get to safety.”
That was actually an echo of the hyperbole Muir delivered during the opening tease of the show. “The humanitarian crisis in the Bahamas. The desperation. And tonight, with President Trump has said about people in the Bahamas who want to come to the U.S.,” he declared.
Meanwhile, on NBC Nightly News, the report given by correspondent Gabe Gutierrez cut out a lot of what Trump said to the press. “I don't want to allow people that were supposed to be in the Bahamas to come into the United States including very bad people,” the soundbite of Trump shared before Gutierrez started speaking over it.
“The President appearing to contradict his own agency. The acting head of CBP calling this a humanitarian mission saying, the U.S. plans to expedite the immigration process to let hurricane victims in,” he said...

The corrupt media lies to their audience, literally cannot be trusted to provide accurate news, so what good are they. They did the same stunt with the Mexican “rapists’” story - The corrupt media earning their moniker daily.

Although I sincerely empathize with the Bahamian victims of Hurricane Dorian, I question the need for the USA to offer them the opportunity to immigrate here in mass simply because they are victims. The Bahamas is the wealthiest country in the Caribbean and one of the wealthiest countries in the world. It consists of over 700 islands, and Dorian directly impacted only a small number of them. The Bahamas is former colony of the Great Britain and currently part of the British Commonwealth. Although the USA should help our neighbor with emergency food, water, transport, medicine, and evacuations, seems to me that the UK and other Commonwealth Countries should take the lead in providing aid and offering visas to refugees; and indeed, rather than exporting the victims to the USA, they should be relocated to the other islands of the Bahamas that were not impacted by the storm (sort of like relocating people from New Orleans to Houston after Katrina).
Likely they’re asking them where they want to go......an unfortunate mistake considering many are Haitians as well, accustomed to being ‘rescued’ and taken care of after any event as this.
Too often groups such as this wait for others to clean up their places ....International groups who go to these events to help often complain they stand around watching others work and not pitch in themselves.
I think Howie Kurtz tries this, but FOX could bounce Shep and do a whole hour every day on extreme media bias, fact-checking the media so to speak. It would be outrageous.
Our ‘news’ is indistinguishable from North Korean State media propaganda.

Yes, Bahamian looters are very bad people. Who knew? Did he say that? People pretending to be Bahaman residents are very bad people.
Trump has ten times the character that ABC does as a corporate entity.
