Netherlands shooting: Police lock down Dordrecht roads – multiple casualties in attack

THE Dutch city of Dordrecht near Rotterdam is in lockdown after police said several people had been shot. Emergency services rushed to the scene, with 15 police cars in the street, two ambulances, a trauma helicopter, and several police officers, according to a PvdA member from the city. Many local residents also rushed out on the street as panic ensued. The city has been partially closed off.

This is impossible, because in the Netherlands, the possession of all firearms and other weapons is prohibited. Non-firearms include various types of knives, fake weapons, realistic-looking toys and air weapons, electroshock weapons and self-defence weapons.

I’m a bit hard hearted about events which turn out, either in their origins or their denouements, turn out to be largely (unintentionally) invited.
