I remember seeing Buckhead’s post in near real time. It was a YOU ARE SPOT ON moment for me, as I was familiar with manual typewriters of the sort the military used in the Bush era, as well as PC word processing and printer technology over the previous 20+ years before Ra^therGate.

Once someone re-created the memo using a default Microsoft Word install, it was all over except for the screaming and bleating from the Left. The anachronistic nature of the fake memos was clear to anyone with two brain cells to rub together.

The instant the memos came out the proportional font stood out for just about everyone. Typewriters don’t do proportional spaced fonts.
