A feeling of extreme nationalism has gripped the United States, according to former CBS News anchor Dan Rather. We have our differences and President Trump has found it to his advantage to exploit those differences, Rather said during an interview Thursday morning on MSNBCs Morning Joe while promoting his new book.
Rather continued:
Were in danger of sliding from extreme nationalism into tribalism. In our country, which is a new experiment in history first time in history any people tried to be free
were constantly trying to perfect it. It depends on [us] as a people, as a nation, that we agree on certain core values such as rule of law.

The whole Intersectionality fad on the Left, is an attempt to divide America into mutually-hostile tribes.
Speaking from his hideout on the Isle of Irrelevance ...
Good grief, when when this country ever "extremely nationalistic"? And Rather has been doing his best to encourage tribalism forever. His "fake but accurate" news wasn't ever going to bring the country together.
Yep.
i.e. this is projection.
The three debate tools of the left:
1. Ad hominem attack
2. Deflection
3. Projection
Another example: Whenever the left accuses you of racism regarding an action that does not involve race, they are projecting. By inserting race into the discussion they are outing themselves as the racist.
Deflection (changing the subject) can also be done via moving the goalposts. They do that a lot.
Ad-hominem is not just name calling. When they argue against a source with invalid arguments, but ignore the words of the source (they do it all the time with Tony Heller videos), they are exercising the ad-hominem attack.
That, and Rather here putting lipstick on it in order to sell a book:
"...were constantly trying to...agree on certain core values such as rule of law".
All while leftist/out-of-the-closet commie state officials create sanctuary cities and direct their police to not assist federal LEO's or enforce federal statutes, or even in some cases, state laws.
Nationalism not overdone is good for a nation. Doesn’t it kinda mean you love your country?
People of a given race or culture tend to relate to each other and group together. There are great differences among the various cultures and races. It’s ridiculous to think individuals can be totally comfortable with other cultures.
It’s an acknowledgement, that the best way to organize the world’s population, which consists of mutually-exclusive cultures, is to separate those different cultures into separate Nations.
Think of your neighborhood. Everyone lives in their own house, where they have their own resources and freedom to live according to the way they want, without infringing on others. The houses, in essence, are nations. You can have neighbors with different cultures, and get along because at least you don’t conflict.
Now. Imagine that instead, these neighbors are forced to live under the same roof, and have to share those resources. You can imagine the inevitable conflicts that will arise. That is multiculturalism.
CBS was once the gold standard in broadcast news.
Then, in the early ‘60s, something happened.
To those who idolize and idealize Native-Americans, I suppose “Tribalism” would be a GOOD thing. /s
Good grief, when when this country ever “extremely nationalistic”?

When we defeated the forces of evil 1941- 1945
The tribalism is on the left and has been for decades.
He’s correct
The Africanization of American cities is irreversable. Africans were enslaved a second time when their betters took political control of their cities
According to FDR and Truman, it was the "United Nations" that defeated the forces of evil. We pretty much abandoned Nationalism during the war.
We will soon know whether anyone who has publicly supported Trump explains how they can continue to do.
The propaganda is being layered on to an extreme degree. Since when in American politics does a voter have to justify his support of a candidate, or a president, publicly?
Dan Rather has turned into a vile old man.
Notice, they never spell out, in specific terms, the evil that Trump is promoting.
I bet all he can do is “he is dividing the country.” Interpretation: Americans are not allowed to engage in self-defense. By refusing to roll over and surrender to the globalists and their agents, the MSM, we are troubling the waters.
Who the hell cares what this fraudster has to say???
Give the Fraud Dan Rather credit for one thing, not too many disgraced journalists get back on TV, like Bill O’Reilly or Charlie Rose. I guess Brian Williams got back on, although demoted.
Quite right. It is one of the important results of there being a "melting pot". In fact, it is so important that it is a primary target of any who would seduce a nation.
