CNN political analyst David Gergen said Wednesday that action to counter climate change has become a "moral imperative" as Hurricane Dorian inched its way up the East Coast.
During a discussion of a recent trip to Greenland on "CNN Newsroom," Gergen claimed U.S. cities should prepare for massive flooding if polar ice caps continue to melt.
I went [to Greenland] thinking it was a practical imperative to deal with climate change. I came away feeling its a moral imperative," he said. "When you see whats happening in Greenland, it is an early -- it's an early set of signals about whats going to happen to the globe."
"The glaciers are retreating, they're breaking off and forming icebergs," he continued. "Theyre beautiful icebergs, but theyre breaking up. There is a growing danger that the icecap will melt in Greenland and well have -- there wont be a big icecap in the summer... We could have cities in the United States engulfed in floods.

Gergler is indeed one of the minions of Goebbels.

What causes weather changes.
Not human activity.
Maybe LA and SF will finally be cleansed of poop n’stuff.
They never look on the bright side.
It will mean more ocean front property!...............
where is the countdown now 11.45 years
When the caps melt I’m buying farm land on top of the world.
I’m at 5000 ft. Bring it on.
“One day a real rain is going to come, and wash all the scum off of the streets.”
Question for Gergen: How soon will the Obama’s newly acquired property be under water? If the former President had been well informed on this subject, how bright is he to purchase a future swampland?
These morons have been saying this ever since Gore lost the election. Someone should make the point that the planet has been cooling for 4.5 billion years when it was a ball of fire.
The Feces District in SF can use a good flushing.
Sorry, that was supposed to have happened by 2012. Pick another catastrophe.
I read an article a few years ago about a Greenlander who was buying up land and turning it to agriculture. He said, the temperature average had gone up maybe a degree and a half, but that was enough for him to get a crop.
I have to wonder if that degree and a half might extend the growing season in large swaths of Canadian and Siberian lands.
77 yr old paid media idiot
Martha’s Vineyard will be untouched.
I read another article about a Viking farm that had been exposed; it was buried maybe 800 years ago as the ice advanced and forced the farmer to abandon it. It had been buried by sand pushed forward by the advancing ice, supposedly, but was now exposed and archaeologists were studying it.
Lowering the average temp in the north seems like a net gain. Especially as there doesn’t seem to be any corresponding rise in temps in the tropics.
On election night, 2016, after it was was apparent Trump had won, Gergen cried to his CNN audience : “ Well, there goes the new world order “.
Now that the Russia hoax has been buried, the Soros brigades on Fake News are desperate for a new narrative.
” Racism, recession, and climate change “ are the new mantras.
Since CNN has lost half of it’s audience after Mueller bombed, it’s really getting pathetic to behold.
Fill a glass to the brim with water and ice. When the ice melts does the glass overflow? NO!
Let’s assume the ice caps will “melt” (which they won’t).
Yet even THAT statement (unproven and not provable) denies the mechanisms by which such melting would occur. It would not be a process where 100% of such melting is merely warmer water melting adjacent ice locally to their connection, and thus immediately shedding that ice as water into the sea.
No, it would not work that way. A near equal amount of such “melting” would be by evaporation - warmer air evaporating surface ice. Evaporated water forms clouds, and clouds lose their water by rain, which does not just fall on the seas, nor flow to the rivers that flow to the seas, but the rain falls on land as well. And a good amount of the rain on land does not get to the seas. It adds to land locked bodies of water and it adds to the water table below ground as well.
Then you have the fact that if it was so warm that the ice caps were melting, you would also have greater H2O evaporation of every open body of water as well.
The alarmists are alarmists because their unscientific assumptions of what would happen are wrong - even if their general premis was not wrong to begin with.
