Ive seen whats going around and have been around when they are smoking. The quality is better than it used to be. Back in our day, the quality was crap compared to now.
Anyone who smokes now is familiar with what they are smoking by name ie, lemon haze, Girl Scout cookies, etc. They know the difference between an indica/stativa. They are pretty familiar with the thc % or where it lines up comparatively. Perhaps those were children you saw. I dont know.
Alcohol is a bigger problem than pot. Turns people into idiots and is terrible for ones health.
Years ago I read an article that stated , according to the DEA, the FBI and the US Bureau of Prisons that fully 65% of people doing time in jail for murder, manslaughter, armed robbery and sexual assault were under the influence of alcohol at the time they committed these types of crimes.
And; implicantly; every gun owner.
re: “Marijuana is not ...”
Yeah yeah yeah ... HEARD it all before . GO BACK and read what I wrote again. Obviously, it didn’t sink in ...
What applied to YOU doesn’t necessarily apply to ANYONE ELSE. You OBVIOUSLY don’t understand “statistical outliers” what it comes to any given person’s physiological response to different ‘compounds’.
And you’re one of those hypocritical drug warriors who look right past the damage alcohol does and rail against marijuana, please. Did your kind ever consider that because marijuana is still illegal in so many states that kids can get it? “Statistical outliers’’. What a crock.
Just like when a Muslim commits an act of terrorism we’re told not to blame Islam but when there is a mass shooting ALL gun owners and the NRA are to blame.
So..... late 1950's ?
This was all very well explained in a short sci-fi story printed in ANALOG magazine I read back in my adolescence. The story was one of a series about CALLAHAN'S BAR written by Spider Robinson.
The explanation came from "Fast Eddie" the piano player, who was a heroin addict. He said that people addicted to drugs hated the world they lived in so much that they used drugs to avoid reality. Some hate the world they live in so much they would rather die (OD) than continue living.
I know that doesn't cover every aspect of abuse/addiction but it sure covers most. Drugs, alcohol , even cigarettes are a way of avoiding reality.
I agree. I am kind of surprised that is work place did not have an EAP that could have provided help. It might be a good idea for health insurance and worker comp carriers to offer sharp discounts for employers (large firms) that do have such programs that are set up to intervene/offer help when employees are showing emotional stress.
