With only one exception I can think of, either the police take care of that or the shooter himself does that. So how will another law deter any future shooter?

I read a story awhile back (in Readers Digest) about this drunk guy who was arrested for a murder. The guy was too drunk to remember where he was on the day in question. But his DNA was found on the victim. And so the drunk guy was arrested for the murder.
It turns out that paramedics had examined the drunk. And some of the drunk’s DNA got on the paramedics. Later that same day, those same paramedics responded to the murder. And some of the drunk’s DNA was transferred from the paramedics to the murder victim.
The drunk guy was totally innocent. That was a rare occurrence, to be sure. But it’s something to think about.
Quick execution for mass shooters would play into the hands of the Deep State. It’s better that they’re kept alive for the information to share about what their motivation was and who gave them assistance. An example (FWIW) I thought Tim McVeigh was executed too quickly, possibly to bury forever information about who or what motivated him in that bombing.
A part of a larger Gun Control Package. Ludicrous. Our prez and his admin are hellbent on keeping only criminals and governments armed. Not. Just. No.
It doesn’t matter. Working alone a Seal team six operator could not clear a building full of people determined to take him down. You can only look, move and shoot in one direction at a time. This leaves all other angles open for attack. One man even with a gun is no match for a crowd of determined people

My only fear is that Pence won’t get on with it. As I said, I don’t care whether the killers are leftists, Islamists, ecofreaks, rightists or just plain loonies. They need to be dealt with promptly and finally.
There is never any doubt about their guilt. Try them immediately before the press can start to defend them (if they’re leftists or Muslims or crazy). It would be a short trial because most of the time there are photos of them doing their killing. And then execute them.
It will cut down on the shootings - or even knife and bomb attacks - but it’s got to be fast and efficient.
Everybody needs to support this. Perhaps there should be a special statute for mass killings?
The legislation should include a reference to a "wood chipper."
I’m for it especially these days when video footage removes all doubt about the shooter.
That said, I’m glad to hear that the shooters are being taken out by LE or armed citizens such as the TX church shooting some time back.
That's right. They are showing their hand that they are not interested in stopping mass shootings but are really interested in complete gun confiscation.

Long ago as a kid I wondered about “the right to a speedy trial” because all the criminals tried to delay as long as they could (your honor my client’s requested documents are not yet available so may we ask for another delay), and then death row entailed decades of delay later. The thugs outlived all the judges and witnesses on our dime.
Get the thing done.
