This week on Fox News, host Neil Cavuto blasted President Donald Trump‘s criticism of the network in a monologue dubbed “Common Sense” that he delivered on Thursday. Cavuto claims that the president makes clear that “to fact check him is to be all but dead to him” and that “my job is to cover you, not fawn over you.”
The host of the right-leaning network seemed to have had enough of Trump’s backsliding every time the network reports on something negative. “First of all, Mr. President, we don’t work for you.” he declared. “I don’t work for you.”

I have never met Charlie Gasparino; yet, I despise him. His arrogance and condescension know no bounds. I used to watch Cavuto regularly; but, he insists on having that clown Gasparino on every single day; and, he seems to be following his lead in criticizing the POTUS.
I don't watch him anymore.
No person that is employed by a private person or company works for any president. What is so hard to understand?

Stuart Varney and Lou Dobbs are on the Fox Business channel. I rarely go over to the Fox News channel anymore (I do watch Laura Ingraham); but, mostly, I watch the Business Channel.
“My ego can be just as big as yours” isn’t a great lesson in humility. Why waste time with a segment like this? If he was trying to prove something by it he proved the opposite.

The phrase “...not working for us” has more than one meaning. Cavuto purposely misconstrued Trump’s meaning in order to make it sound as though the President thought Fox worked for him. Obviously, he meant no such thing.
Very dishonest of Cavuto to twist the President’s words like that. He should be ashamed.

Exactly right. I have no problem with cavuto passing out opinion/criticism as he sees fit. But pretending that Trump literally meant “Fox news works for the Trump Administration” sounds more like a teenaged boys tantrum and is a capitulation to leftist “journalism” where words are alternately interpreted to be pointlessly critical.
Cavuto could have produced legitimate criticism without pretending he didnt understand what Trump meant.
